Frozen Embryo Transfer process and flying abroad

Hi all, I've been told I'll be starting meds for my frozen embryo transfer on day 21 of my next cycle, I've been advised that I shouldn't fly at all while I'm on the meds which will be min. 8 weeks if I don't get pregnant and up to 16-20 weeks if pregnant (longer that i thought!!), as theres a higher risk of blood clots, assuming the long length of time is because they'll be giving me progesterone after pregnancy if i do get pregnant.

I just wanted to check if anyone else was told the same, and if it is genuinely really risky to fly in the first few weeks of the meds (even before the actual transfer), or if they're being super over-cautious. My family and father live in Germany and he's been very unwell recently so I've been going back and forth and just need to work out how long i can continue flying for until I really shouldn't

Thanks all.

hey, I don’t know about before transfer but I’ve been advised by my acupuncture not to fly after transfer, I’m booked on a holiday which could mean the FET happening just before but suggested I try and wait until I get back. Apparently flying in the first trimester so not safe and higher chance of miscarriage but not sure if there’s any research to support the theory. Good luck on your journey x

Thanks for your reply, really helpful to hear you've been told same. Online there's mixed advice, some ivf clinics say you can fly so it's bit confusing x
