Contraceptive implant

Hi Ladies,

I'm looking for alternatives to the combined pill which I can't take anymore due to high blood pressure. Has anyone had the implant and is it suitable for PCOS ladies? Is it painful to have it inserted and removed? Your advice is appreciated.

Many thanks

I can't say too much about the pcos side because I had it before I was diagnosed. Insertion and removal aren't too bad. They numb you for both. Insertion just feels a bit strange. Like something is wiggling beneath your skin. I think I laughed while it was happening. I couldn't feel anything during the removal.

implant is not good from a pcos point of view, what about the coil - I am getting one fitted on Monday, lots of pcos ladies love the coil
