Not had a period for ages! But now having really bad pains

I haven't had a period for 7 months and recently I had a dull ache in my belly and down below it was really bad it was getting sharper and I was feeling sick and washed out.

So after a few days of that constant pain I had some spotting for one day and now everything has gone? I don't understand was it a period or something else I should be concerned for?

I appreciate some help/anwsers
