Follow up: I finished paxlovid 7/16. Felt ok until 7/22 with Different symptoms from 7/11 ED visit but similar to pneumonia and sinus congestion. First available GP appt was today. COVID positive again! (Yes, fully vaxxed, wear mask, live alone, isolate, etc.) Also, flu neg. Doctor also suspects bacterial pneumonia and prescribed antibiotics, and cough medicine. Return in 5 to 7 days if no improvement. I read about paxlovid rebound. Research showed 1% do. But, added bonus of ANCA-vasculitis! Yeah! Who knows? Consulted rheumy, he stopped methotrexate "until a negative COVID test". Hmm, I had wondered whether to restart it but the COVID has taken control and made the decision for me. Continuing plaquenil and prednisone as prescribed. Thanks for reading!

Hope you get through this soon. Sounds like a horrible experience. I guess covid rebound more common with people like us.

Keep us updated. Hope you start to improve.

That is pretty crapppy treatment ..when I went to my appt the consultant even had my Pet scan results. Was diagnosed with egpa on the spot and left with a tonne of pred and a promise of various mri's and scans all which happened. Postcode lottery and must have been beyond frustrating. Sorry to hear this

So sorry Irishponies. Think we had civic, paxlovid and rebound all the same time. Awful. I didn’t however have your possible bacterial pneumonia. So sorry for that misery. What helped me the most besides the usual stay hydrated was just accepting it and sleeping whenever. I’m over it but still have fatigue. It improves a bit every day.
