I have great antibodies from my Covid vaccine. I am very immunosuppressed, getting IVIG infusions every 6 weeks. I had the finger prick test which showe no antibodies then I had the blood draw test Covid IGg spike protein test and I had 4 times the positive rate for the test. Please don’t let someone take hope away from you... maybe it wasn’t the right test or vaccine needed for you I had my 1st shot Jan 5,2021 and second one two weeks later. I received the Pfizer vaccine

Great news for you. I have had a finger prick test and have been told I have antibodies. I do SCig and was told by my vasculitis consultant that I may get antibodies from this if the donors have them. May be the source of yours just great to know you have them.

I haven’t been tested for COVID antibodies, but I am on SCIG...due to the pandemic, immunology switched me from 3-weekly to weekly SCIG & they are saying within a few months COVID antibodies will possibly be in the IgG serum we’re infusing...

Have you had a written notice from your hospital’s homecare provider saying deliveries of your SCIG gear will now be more frequent & smaller? I’m on IgG for primary immunodeficiency disease...our official U.K. support groups are saying the U.K. IgG serum shortage is mainly caused by COVID patients being prescribed IgG therapy...am sure Brexit is equally responsible, because until v recently law prevented the U.K. producing its own IgG serum...

Hi Barnclown

At the the message is consistent!

I haven’t had this message from the home care provider. I understood the immunoglobulin came from USA as they don’t have mad cow disease there. To be honest I was expecting it to be in short supply last year. We will have a I keep our fingers crossed.

🤞👍Yes, me too: shortages were inevitable once COVID hit... eg for months before lockdown, my IVIG dosage changed due to shortages of 10ml bottles🤷🏼‍♀️

you’re right some IgG serum comes from the USA, but my univ Hosp chief pharmacist explained that the raw material is sourced in other countries too. Now that UK law has changed, IgG serum is being produced here...will add a PS with a link that explains

Thank you that’s very interesting. I have just read the packaging for mine and see it has a German address so I guess it is from Europe. My dose has been reduced but this was well overdue as my IG levels were very high. Thanks for the heads up on the shortages too.

You’re very welcome. Am glad your IgG levels are good!

Hope you don’t mind if I ask: are you on IgG for secondary immunodeficiency, or primary immunodeficiency?

Mine is secondary from rituximab. I must remember to look at the primary immune site more often! I hope you are keeping as well as can be.
