I have had GPA vasculitus for 6 years ,I take Azathiaprine,Prednisolone,and various other medication,I have just been diagnosed with Angina and I am waiting to go and have an Angigram ,has anyone else had one of these with Vasculitus,and was there any problems

Hello, I have MPA and was treated for angina, as well as the similar medications as yourself. Eventually, I had an angiogram and the cardiologist found no problem with my heart at all. It was not angina! He thought the chest pains I experienced were more than likely due to a gastric cause. I do have a long standing gall stone

My husband has GPA, on Rituximab &numerous others. Had Angina, then Angiogram. No prob. with heart itself but arteries fured up so he had Triple Hearst bypass. Solved the Angina!! But all of that no prob. Good luck.

Hi I have MPA and having breathing problems and chest pain on same meds as you. Had angiogram a few weeks ago no problem, I was given extra fluids to protect my kidneys. Now waiting for angioplasty and stent

I have Giant Cell Arteritis and had an MRI a couple of months,ago which was very manageable. The staff talked me through the procedure and what to expect. I guess you could ask for more information before hand if you need it. I am also having a stress test MRI Next week - hope yours goes well.

John has a problem with his heart but not Angina, he sees the Cardiologist twice a year. There are sometimes cardiovascular involvement for patients diagnosed with WG. Will your appointment be long coming through for the Angiogram? Arfarlk

The waiting time for an appointment is about 2 months,my main concern is that I bruise and bleed quite easily and I wondered if it had been a problem for anyone else

Hi, I had an angiogram on my kidneys way back at the start of my early symptoms. They were looking for the cause of the bleeding from both kidneys into the bladder which they had previously seen and filmed. Nothing wrong was found with the kidneys, but it did take a while to stop the bleeding from the angiogram entry point. It was at this point it dawned on everyone that the bleading (and bruising) was much more widespread than the kidneys. I have been taking the anti bleeding medication 'Tranexamic Acid' ever since.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say, is make sure you really push the point about the bleeding and bruising before the angiogram, so they can at least be prepared and take any necessary steps.

I agree talk through your particular symptoms with the team doing the angiogram. My cardiologist liaised with renal to protect my kidneys. So if you bleed easily and take time to clot then they need to now. Just because its in your notes doesnt mean they've read it

Thanks for that,I have spoken to the Heart nurse at my G P,s and she has given me similar advice ,I was interested to know if anyone had ,had any problems,but it seems the procedure is fairly straight forward.

John does not suffer in that way at all, but he does suffer with shortness of breath when exerting himself and can experience "dizziness" if he stands up too quickly from sitting down. He takes medication for his new heart problem, which seems to be making things much better. I am sure others will share their experiences.

Hi I was referred over two years ago by my old g p due to shortness of breath,believe it or not I have just had the letter from the hospital back sent to my new g p. I also have to attend Broadgreen specialist hospital in Liverpool for further tests my g p suspects it may be angina or left ventricular hyper trophy so have to wait and see. The previous tests I had were no problem and not stressful at all so I hope you don't feel too worried.

Hi Shannan,2YEARS, I only had to wait 2 weeks from seeing my GP to seeing the Consultant,hope everything goes ok
