Septal nose perforation

Hi, I have recently been advised that I have a large hole inside the top of my nose, caused by WG. I require a septal button to be inserted to fix this, I was wondering if anyone else has had this done and what is involved.

Dear Shazza09,

I know that Susan is sending you more information, please do read this, however my 'gut' feeling is 'if you have developed a hole, in your nose-an area prone to infection anyway-and 'they' have said that it can be fixed, the get it done. I knows (nose-sorry!) that I would.

I had the hole in my septum also with saddle nose my sinuses flare up and destroyed any bone and tissue I had left in the left side of my nostril like you infections inflammations have played a big part in this problem that was 2005 I'm still waiting for an operation every time I get somewhere I flare up again and is put back mine was so bad it caused a fistular opening in the corner of my eye a hole I've had plastic surgery in royal free London but with a recent flare up of WG it's opened up again bigger than before continuous infection I've lost my eye due to issues with WG hope you get better results take care xx

Dear Maria,

I'm sorry that you are having so many problems-it's difficult for me to suggest any solutions really. I did have a 'perri-anal' abscess once (I think that's the right spelling-checker doesn't know it), many many years ago-'they' operated, to drain it, and I have had little, or no, problems since. This doses, of cause, need you to be well enough for the op. mind. Sorry that I can't be of more help here.

Thanks for everyone's comments I think I will take my time to consider the pros and cons. I am still undecided and worried.
