Has anyone had Septal button fitted
We know about them but do not know of anyone who has one. They sound good in theory and are supposed to improve respiration through the nose and reduce nose bleeding and crusting. Since it is none surgical it could be removed at anytime. We would be very interested to hear how you get on. Hope it all goes well. Susan and John
I had a septal button placed on 12-30-11. I was under general anethesia as I had another procedure at the same time. I had quite a whistle from my perforation and also had trouble with crusting. The whistling was gone right away and I was happy at first but now I am constantly having to pick my nose as it all sticks to the button. I have to use tweezers to pull the gunk off. I get snots strings that are 5-6 long that come out. Blowing my nose doesn't help. I feel congested all the time. I am thinking about having it removed.
Thanks for your reply .will have to talk to WG consult about before i have iit done too ,.
Spoke to WG consult on friday, he was very against me having the septal button fitted, mainly because it is were my wg is at its worse,He said he could not tell me not to by strongly advised me not to.he is worried about picking up an infection from it been done ,Also the possiablity of nasal bridge collapse.Plus recent flare not completely under control. So bottom line I have decided not to have it done.!
I get all the above with out a button up my nose to make it worse .
I wouldent have it done unless i really had to x
