I am six months post transplant. Is anyone dealing with sweating that comes on so intense my hair gets wet. I am also dealing with stomach pain and indigestion that I know a vomiting scene is going to happen. Not eating anything spicy but my insides just ache. I have told my transplant team and yet all I hear it’s the meds. I am on a small dose of thyroxine along with Tacrolimus, mycophenolate and prednisone. BP medicine, dapsone, and a multivitamin. My A1C is 4.5 and my thyroid is in the normal level. Seeking advice.

Hi Dara3351, I will be six months post transplant in 2 days time. Yes, I have been sweating a lot. Having to shower twice a day at the moment - I get quite soaked with the profuse sweating. Even when I shower, I don't stay feeling fresh for long. I also have very sore stomach, stomach cramps and other GI issues. I cannot rest anything on my stomach/abdomen as it is so sore. I am on Advagraf (tac), Myfortic (changed from MMF), prednisolone and I also take levothyroxine. I was changed to Myfortic because of the stomach/GI issues but they have not resolved, although the stomach cramps are not so bad. The doctors tell me that the GI issues are normal and common, and should wear off in time - judging by some of the posts on here, it can be quite a long time. I had an option to change the Myfortic to Azathiaprine, but don't want to change just yet. Hopefully, posters who have had their kidneys for longer will be able to reassure you that these issues will go. Please make sure that you push for any necessary tests to be taken; mine all came back negative. Really hope you feel better soon. Jackie.
Thanks Jackie...the side effects are something else fir sure! Staying positive! Either it’s the sweating, the vomiting, or feeling like I am pregnant! I just tell myself this too shall pass but I would prefer if it would just stop! Lol
My son is also 6 months post transplant and he had the same symptoms except no sweating and his team did an ultra sound and it was discovered that he had developed a few small gallstones. They suggested a few dietary changes and his symptoms have improved.
