Should I take my meds separately?

I am taking the following daily:

Thyroxine

Liothyronine

Selenium

Iron & Vit C

Vit D3

Probiotics

Maca

Should I take any separately? I read that iron and thyroxin and liothyronine should be taken at different times of the day.

Thanks.

You can take thyroxine and liothyronine together but I think supplements should be separated by about 4 hours just in case they interfere with the uptake of your thyroid hormones.

Thanks :)

yes, don't take iron at the same time as it can affect the absorption of thyroid hormones

It's really difficult to know what to do when you have a lot of medications and supplements to take. If some of them are "take with food" it can be a problem if, like me , you are on a strict diet. I simply don't eat enough (substantial meals) I only eat light small snacks and some medications need more than that like Aspirin and Iron tabs. Then you have the ones that you must take away from food but f you have a lot of them and must take them separately there are not enough hours in the day. It can be really difficult to find the right spaces for everything and it then becomes stressful.

This where I found taking thyroxine at night helped. It gave you the rest of the day starting from breakfast time to take other meds or supplements

Yes this is what I have done................. Imogen xx

I might do that as it gets one lot out of the way but I take my Thyroxine twice daily one in the morning and half or a quarter at night. I don't know if there is any point in splitting it up but I've always done it.

I don't think there is much point in splitting your thyroxine in to two doses. Try taking it all together and should it not suit you that way then go back to two doses. I have read that it can even be taken all together once a week and for some people that works fine as it has an eight day half life. I personally wouldn't like to try that but then the question doesn't arise for me as I am now on NDT...Val

Thanks, I'll do that.
