Low stomach acid.

I've been treating this with betaine hydrochloride for about a month - have definitely noticed an improvement in my digestion, and am hoping it's helping my absorption of vitamins and minerals.

Does anyone know how long it should be taken for, and is it OK to take it long-term if necessary?

I take betaine hydrchloride with pepsin also. It acts only for that meal at which it is taken, by increasing the efficiency of the stomach's hydrochloric acid so I can see no reason not to take it long-term. I started taking it to ensure correct absorption of vitamins and minerals and found( Hallelujah! ) that all sorts of embarassing sound effects vanished never to return so I feel socially acceptable again.
