Calcium in NDT?

Hi,

I thought that calcium inhibits the absorption of thyroid hormones and it is advised against consuming anything with calcium around the time of your dose, but NDT (Nature-Throid in particular) contains what seems to be a substantial amount of calcium (17mg per grain).

Does anyone know anything about this? Does Armour contain a similar amount of calcium?

Hello,

This probably isn't that helpfull, but I just found a web site called ehow.com and they say that you shouldn't take Amor with Calcium. How strange that NDT should contain so much when it doesn't help the intake of the hormoanes!

Happy Christmas.

Thanks Hazel. Yeah it is interesting isn't it? Would be good to get an explanation. If I find the answer I will post it here.
