My latest bloods came back with borderline low calcium. What does this mean and why might I have low calcium. I have a really good diet and supplement with Vit D3. I'm well a controlled and replaced hypo btw. Many thanks

Seconds ago I posted this link:

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

It explains that correcting B12 levels helps with parathyroid hormone - which is often the critical factor in low calcium.

Do you have any idea what your B12 level is?

Also, have a quick read of the links I posted here:

Thank you I'll have a read. My B12 has always been low to mid 300's but doc refused to treat as "I'm within range". My B12 by result is yet to come in. I asked for it to be tested at the same time. I didn't realise it could be another B12 issue. Thanks for replying.

You may need to supplement with magnesium. As magnesium helps the body absorb calcium. Most people with fatigue will be low in magnesium. I've found a great transdermal product: BetterYou 'Magnesium Oil' spray that should be fine to use :-)

This is me too , I got my vit d level up to 169 from 27 and Doc had said my low calcium would probably go up but it was even lower when retested . I don't understand it . I am now taking a calcium suppl . Good luck
