Dear all

I wonder if anyone could help me make sense of my test results which have come back to me this morning. They are as follows:-

Here are my results:

TSH 0.31 range 0.27 - 4.20

Free T4 11.1 range 12.0 - 22.0

Free T3 6.5 range 3.1-6.8

Cortisol 360.0 range 73.8 - 507.0

Magnesium 0.9 range 0.7 - 1.0

I am currently taking NDT 1.5 mg per day (at night).

Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

So you are looking to change to Levo …..possibly plus T3 eventually

Currently your results suggest high Ft3……but how long before test was last dose

Pity you didn’t test vitamin levels

They must be tested annually

And taking iron supplement you need FULL iron panel test 3-4 times a year

Iron is toxic in excess

Never supplement iron without doing full iron panel test for anaemia first and retest 3-4 times a year if self supplementing.

It’s possible to have low ferritin but high iron

Test early morning, only water to drink between waking and test. Avoid high iron rich dinner night before test

If taking any iron supplements stop 3-5 days before testing

Medichecks iron panel test

Will GP prescribe Levo

Are you lactose intolerant

Which brand of Levo did you prefer before

You could start on 50mcg levothyroxine and reduce NDT by 1/2 a grain

Or go see thyroid specialist to oversee change

Here’s link for how to request Thyroid U.K.list of private Doctors emailed to you, but within the email a link to download list of recommended thyroid specialist endocrinologists who will prescribe T3

Ideally choose an endocrinologist to see privately initially and who also does NHS consultations so that might eventually transfer to getting T3 on NHS

Hi SlowDragon

Sorry for my late reply.

Thanks for your response and advice it is very helpful. Here are the answers to your questions;

I had taken my thyroid meds at about 11pm ish the lady came earlier than expected to take my blood test, I think I had that at about 7:30am ish.

My vitamin levels are low, I take the following:-

Iron 17mg it is vitabiotics - this is a mix with the following:- Folic acid 400ug, vit B12 10ug, zinc 12mg and copper 1000ug

Vit B12 10ug

D3 & K2 100ug

I take them each day

Thanks for sending the iron panel test, I will take a look at that.

My GP is sending me for a blood test before she will talk about Levo, so I will be taking another blood test.

I didn't have a brand of levo (I didn't realise there were different ones to choose from).

Thanks for the list of doctors and the advice on how to start looking at changing over.

I am not lactose intolerant.

Thanks again
