Blood results including T3

Hi All,

I got further blood results as I asked my Dr to test for T3. Please see attached.

What does my T3 level mean?

My T4 has gone down slightly further, but I was told I need to increase my carbimazole to 15mg , I have only been taking 5mg.

Can I take two tablets at the same time or three at the same time?

Thank you in advance for your comments and replies

Hey there again :

Your T4 is slightly lower than when you last posted and has reduced from 28.75 to 27.00 -

Please take the dose of AT drug as prescribed - and yes, if the tablets are 5 mcg - take 2 or the 3 as prescribed - we need your T3 and T4 levels back down in the range and alleviate the symptoms and pressure this is causing in your body.

Did you ask about Block & Replace ?

Did you ask about taking a beta blocker to offset the palpitations - I think you were prescribed Propranolol - have you started taking this - if you have asthma - an alternative beta blocker can be prescribed.

T3 is the active hormone that runs the body - like fuel runs a car - and it is too high a level of T3 for you that causes all the symptoms you are likely experiencing.

Thank you pennyannie Can i take the tablets at the same time together?

Yes I spoke to the Dr about taking the Propranolol. She prescribed me 10 or 15 I think,im yet to pick it up.

I am reluctant to take it and my palpitations have decreased drastically , but when I do get it, I do a medium intensity exercise for a few mins and it goes.

Ok - so you definitely need to take more Carbimazole than you have been as we need your T3 and T4 back down in the ranges -

and the Anti Thyroid will do this as it semi-blocks your own new daily thyroid hormone production -

Some people take the AT drug twice a day - others just once - if your tablets are x 5 mcg - you could take it all at once or maybe take 2 in the morning and 1 around 12 hours later.

Hopefully within around a week your palpitations will have subsided and not be an issue.
