These results are almost identical to those of 5 months ago where you had these comments: healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

The same comments are relevant now.

Have you tested and now supplementing vitamin levels?

Oh! Well at least theyre consistent, even though Im still getting it wrong. Since the last test I tried an extra 25mcg of levo, that didnt help me feel any better, so I added the T3 every day, and I seem to have a bit more energy. I made sure to take the T3 in tge 12 hour slot advised on here, as I got that wrong last time. The Levo I take in the morning. I am on vitamin D tablets every day, but I havent tested vit keveks, I must admit. I had trouble with taking blood for anaemia test, so I have to redo that one, a new test being sent to me. I also take magnesium, vit B complex, left off for blood test as advised re biotin, and selenium.

What were your results with the extra 25mcgs Levo? It might have been you needed a little more levo than that.

Suggest you test vitamins next to be sure you're taking enough supplements.

I only took the extra 25 for a couple of days, it made my heart pound and I felt a bit breathless, worried that I would experince symptoms I had before when a GP suggested alternating daily 125 and 150 levo, so I thought Id try the T3 instead. Last advice given was to try either one, then get tests done again, which I have just done. I'll also get my vitamin levels checked too.

You can often expect symptoms on initial increase but they should go away over time so long as vitamin levels are good.

So FT4 still needs to be higher, you need more Levo.

Ok. So do you think that 25 mgs is too much of a jump, or should I halve that to 12.5 to start with. Also, should i leave off the t3 and go with the levo only. Would it be best to see what my vit levels are first before raising with anything? Sorry for all the questions. I really do appreciate your helping me.

It depends how sensitive you are to dose changes and also how good your vitamin levels are.

You really need to stick to either Levo only OR Levo+T3. Your body will just get confused if you flip between the 2 and it will also take longer to find your sweet spot with any treatment.

It will take a lot more than a few days on any particular dose for you to feel better - think months, so do give each dose a good while before assessing and retesting & adjusting.

Sorry Jaydee and SlowDragon, you are right. I made a mistake with results above, got ahead of reading the results shown by MMH.Recent bloods are:

TSH result is 0.98 (normal range 0.27 - 4.4 mU/L)

FT4 result is 13.9 (normal range 12 - 22 pmol/L)

FT3 result is 4.7 (normal range 3.1 - 6.8 pmol/L

TPO antibodies normal

Vitamin D 90 optimal

Still waiting for results on Anaemia and B12

These results are absolutely identical to post from 5 months ago

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

In that test you had tested incorrectly….with last dose T3 at 48 hours before test far too long before test

Last dose should be 8-12 hours before test

What’s vitamin D result

Sorry SlowDragon, my mistake. 😔

SlowDragonAmbassador in reply toPurpleOliver

Was test early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

T3 ….ideally day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test

Free T4 (fT4) 13.9 pmol/L (12 - 22) 19.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 4.7 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 43.2%

Ft4 very low at only 19% through range

Suggest you increase Levo to 112.5mcg daily

Retest in 8 weeks

Yes, it was before 9 a.m. Followed advice you gave before for both t4 and t3 tests. That part I got right this time. Ok. Thank you. I just need to get some 25 mg Levo to cut in half, as Ive only got 100mg - not easy to cut into 4, let alone 8. When its time to re order Levo I'll request to have in 50 mg instead, and go from there.

Which brand is your 100mcg tablets

Do you always get same brand

PurpleOliver profile image
PurpleOliver in reply toSlowDragon

I'm on Accord, used to be Teva and always get that now. Our chemisy has it on record tyat I cant take Teva. Changed from Teva caused it caused migraines - took my reading advice on here to realise that, suffered for a long time before.
