Hi everyone
has anyone else has issues with Strides. I was just prescribed it and pretty sure it was causing some horrible symptoms and brain fog. Low mood. I took my normal Morningside yesterday and today and feel so much better!!

Thank you Helvella. I will make an appointment at the doctor 🙏
My document includes ingredients of all UK thyroid hotmone medicines - which might help in deciding what else to try.

Strides Pharma liothyronine contains the same fillers as Teva.
They use Mannitol which is a diuretic that causes problems for a lot of patients.
You can google the PIL for it to get the full list of ingredients.
As Helvla has said, you can take them back to the pharmacy and ask to exchange. Then ask your GP to name your preferred brand on the prescription.
Teva T3 does NOT contain mannitol
Only Teva levothyroxine contains mannitol
Ok I’ll be more specific, but I didn’t say it was Teva t3 that contains mannitol.
Strides Pharma t3 does contain mannitol, which is the same filler in Teva levothyroxine that causes problems for a lot of patients.
No two levothyroxine or liothyronine products available in the UK contain the same fillers (I prefer the word excipients).
The nearest to an exception is where a product is sold in two different forms of packaging - as in Accord and Almus levothyroxine. But that is the self-same product.
Pharmacies rarely exchange once a product has been taken away from the counter. They cannot be sure of anything once it has been in a patient’s hands. As someone trying to return, I'm sorry that is the case. But as a person who might otherwise receive the returned medicine, I'm relieved.
