I have been told today by pharmacist that there is only one supplier for Liothyronine in UK and it is becoming very difficult to get these. I wonder if NHS. is making it difficult so as to get everyone of this medication. My GP in lazy 9 months tried to get me off T3 and onto Levithyroxine and the third time I pointed out that my blood test results show in 2012 that I went more and more underactive on this. He was not happy I would not try this. I don't have a thyroid and was worried why he would siggest I change. I now think he knew there was a problem ahead. After the third time he asked me I was made to feel very uncomfortable when ever I went to the practise and treated very badly and they then found an excuse to have me de-registered out of the blue. They have lied to make this stick. It is true they badly managed my thyroxine in the last yeat causing illness by over medicating and then under medicating which can cause what appears as mental health problems I also think it came down to cost of this medication for which patients cannot be deregistered but the system for deregesteration I know for fact is being abused by practises and is totally against patients to be able to do anything. I find it sickening how the NHS can control people like this.
Liothyronine: I have been told today by... - Thyroid UK
Liothyronine
Unless something has changed in the very recent past, like days, there are three suppliers: Teva, Morningside (Iraksin) and Mercury Pharma (Advanz).
Takes a little while to work through all the documents, but have a look here:
products.mhra.gov.uk/?searc...
Says there is only Mornibgside available and all there will be. I take 55mg dsily
I suggest you contact Teva and Advanz and find out what they say:

Suggest you find a more helpful pharmacy
The NHS itself uses Liothyronine (T3) inaccordance with regulations for the treatment of myxedema and for those taking RAI treatment. There seems to be no national recommendations that are obeyed by each and every CCG, let alone by GP surgeries or endocrinologists.
My CCG, as with the others within the area covered by the PanMersey Area Prescribing Committee will allow T3 provided you have the backing of a consultant endocrinologist in an NHS establishment.Suggest you ask your CCG if they do this and, if not, why not?
Your allegation that you have been lied to does not surprise me as that has happened to me as well on several subjects. Suggest also you complain like h*ll about being deregistered from surgery as that is completely out of order - to GP and also the CCG.
Suggest also you investigate the appropriateness of NDT for you re your lack of thyroid gland especially if you had RAI ablation treatment to eliminate the remaining throid tissues the surgeon was unable to remove.
If you really want to stick in the dagger, then you could also demand to know why the GP failed in his duty to tell you about NDT as he has such an obligation to do so from the GMC.
If he defends this by saying he is unaware of the existence of NDT, you could reply by asking if he has ever bothered to read the recommendations from the CCG, BTA and others concerning NDT.
Thanks. Good advice

One can always give it a try. There’s always the possibility of getting supplies of liothyronine from France. A prescription from your doctor while we are still in the EU can be enough to submit to a doctor in France. The cost is minimal and if your GP is willing to monitor your blood tests you are home and dry.
Good luck
