IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 5-7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results
In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate folate supplement (eg Jarrow methyl folate 400mcg) and continue separate B12

Underscoring this response. I had a scammer contact me via this board to sell me medication as a response to a post ( I spotted it so no damage done) so please be careful.
I should add it wasn't just for thyroid meds it was also for ozempic (weight loss) which presumably is a good tactic when dealing with thyroidy folk who are struggling with that.
The symptoms you describe do sound as if you have thyroid hormone deficiency. How frequently do you test your levels? If you've not done this since taking this latest batch of thyroid-s, then best to do that first thing in the New Year to see what's going on. You can buy a home fingerpick test through Randox - (There's 20% Off with code RESET2025 if you buy between 30th Dec - 8th Jan) randoxhealth.com/en-GB/at-h...
Hi Crazykids6, please can you let me know the batch number of the Thyroid-S you bought in August. Also how much do you take, and how do you take it, do you swallow it whole or do you chew it?
Some people have reported issues with Thyroid-S over the last couple of years, and I had been comparing the percentages of T3 and T4 in each batch to see it they correlated to the issues, but my contact hasn't been so keen to share the details this year. I take it and so far have not had any problems, the batch I currently take was bought a year ago though and is 23T01004. I don't think there have been many reports of problems with batches over the last year because, presumably, those who found it no longer worked well moved to other brands.

I think you'll find when you check out Helvella's blog that most of the issues appear to be with the initial batches of Thyroid S after it was reformulated and these seem to all be batch numbers prefixed ' 22 ' :
I ended up giving up on 3 bottles x 500 tablets that were marked as ' 22 ' batches and now much improved and back to near ' normal for me ' on later batches prefixed 23/24 :
Well - as I understand things - in around 2020 we were told Thyroid S was to be reformulated and that there would be ' some delay ' in the production of next batches :
I think the prefixed 22 batches were the first products launched after reformulation and this then caused some people to start questioning, on this forum, the efficacy of Thyroid S
What may have started as a couple of isolated questions seemed to become a more general issue and probably why Helvella ' jumped in ' and decided to come to the rescue and produced a feedback chart of Thyroid S by batch numbers for forum members to use as a guide - though I now see this feedback chart was started long before the reformulation of Thyroid S.
The issue now appears to be over - as most people have moved past ' 22 ' batch numbers - though for the people like yourself with stored Thyroid S and running behind the curve - you might have an issue - though you might not.
I'm just curious as to this batch number in question as I would have thought most sellers were now selling current batch numbers which are more likely to be prefixed 23/24 .
P.S. Having just looked at the feedback report on Helvella's blog - this seems nothing new - as I can see some people had issues on some brands long before 22 batches and so some of what I've written above inaccurate - but there appears a marked increase in reporting on pre-fixed ' 22 ' batches :
So the above just my understanding of where it all went wrong for me - having only started taking Thyroid S in 2018 and finding it suited me very well - and then finding problems when I was trying to work with batches prefixed ' 22 ' :
My batch number is TA17038 and expired 2020. I asked someone on another site and they told me how to store it in a freezer just in case I ever need it again. As you know I am in remission at the moment
I just checked helvella blog and I can’t see my batch number it is probably very old.
Even if it prevents the deterioration of them, it can affect things like precise levels of hydration of the tablets. (You can often see crystals of ice inside well sealed containers which have been frozen. Movement of water molecules can occur even when something appears solidly frozen.) This can result in changes to absorption of the tablet and its constituents when eventually taken. And we simply do not have data about exactly what happens.
Super-cold freezing - very fast and very cold - might be OK. Such as plunging into liquid nitrogen. But I would be very wary of domestic deep freezers.
One of the problems of any 'reformulation' or even change in manufacturing production process (of ANYTHING, not just NDT thyroid medication) is that even with the same exact active ingredient, individual bodies may digest and absorb a new formula differently. Which may mean that you need to alter your dose because you're metabolising differently and not getting the same dose, even though the medicine contains the same amount. The only way of checking whether that's happening for you is to take blood tests, compare with previous, and alter what you take accordingly. The other problem with a drug like Thyroid medication is that it has to be stored well, as its potency is badly affected be exposure to light, heat and humidity. Which means you are reliant on whoever supplies you, and that can be uncertain. Personally my own dose of Thyroid-S has increased somewhat since it reappeared on market, but all seems stable now.
There are 2 ways to tell firstly, get a blood test from the company you've used before so that you can compare results. You'll need fT3, fT4 and TSH as a minimum. Secondly, have you got any of your old Thyroid S to try for a week or two to see if it makes you feel better?
I always purchase my thyroid s [redacted]...got my present thyroid s last June and haven't noticed a difference, haven't had bloods done since as I just do them annually as readings optimal and I feel good. As someone mentioned, check the batch number.
Everyone is different I had been using thyroid s NDT since 2016. Back after covid the batches were less potent but no now. Which batch are you on now?
I take mine in two lots and always have. You may need slightly more on a different batch anyway, I started on 2.5 grains per day for three years but had to move down to 2.25 for years.
There may be more than one supplier in Thailand. I buy Thyroid-s and honestly, it's the best thing that has ever happened to me. I''ve always taken T-s, but when they shut down for a couple of years I took ERFA and it almost killed me. Terribly reaction to it - much like you are describing except for the voice. I was so happy that T-s was available again (albeit very expensive now).. I'm back to normal again. My last order was in late July. [redacted] Maybe write to your supplier and ask them about your batch?
You should get your blood done either way. Maybe get your testosterone and estrogen levels tested as well given the weight gain and voice.
None of the NDTs ever helped me lose weight however, but when I started taking pure T2, my body responded to my efforts.. I'm down 24 pounds in 6 months with moderate effort.
