Hello everyone,
I have been on NDT for about 9 months (currently 1.25 grain at 6am and 1 grain at 3pm) and feel much better. Having been on this site for a number of years and previously on T4/T3 combination, I learned to take Levo 24 hours before my test and T3 10 hours before. That way I could monitor my levels and symptoms over time.
However my doctor who prescribes NDT asks that I don't change the timings when I do blood tests, so I no longer have a sense of what is good, or less good. I guess my real question is - is a T3 of 97% through the range at 3pm a high point, a low point or even an issue? Can anyone help me interpret what a decent TSH, T4, and T3 might be at 3pm and how this equates to my old way of looking at the results. Is that even possible, or worth doing at all.
Recent bloods below. Blood tests at 9am, last dose of NDT was at 3pm the previous day.
April 2024 2 grains
TSH 0.008 (0.27-4.21)
T4 15.5 (12-22) 35% through range
T3 5.4 (3.1-6.8) 62%
August 2024 2.25 grains
TSH 0.005 (0.27-4.21)
T4 17.6 (12-22) 56% through range
T3 6.7 (3.1-6.8) 97%
The August 2024 result worried me as T3 was at 97% so I reduced back to 2 grains. I currently feel OK although I also felt OK on 2.25. I do notice however that have increased pains.
Thanks to all for reading.
