I was diagnosed with having a large nodule on right side of my neck 3 years ago. During the ultrasound I told the operator who was doing the scan that a spot on left side of my neck aches. He told me off saying there is nothing there aggresively. 6 or so month later exactly in that spot grew another nodule. I was scanned again and was told having multiple benign nodules. Because my first nodule enlarged so much they decided to do a biopsy. They took a sample out of my first nodule with a needle. Results came back benign. Just recent the nodule on my left side started aching so much that feels like ripping my skin. Now I am worried that one nodule could be benign but could other nodule be cancerous in the same time? I had just recently some back problems which I had to see my gp couple of times to get stronger medication after getting prescribed paracetamol first time. Gp asks me why I see doctor so many times. Now I feel like I can't see gp anymore 😕

Multiple thyroid nodules
Welcome to forum.
Do you have any thyroid results you can post? It always recommended to get a hold of test results so see what's been tested and what the results are. With the lab range. You and entitled to copies. Online access may also be an option.
I'd also recommend you obtain a copy of any scan report.
I had a fine needle aspiration and was told everything fine. Many months later it was realised the tests hadn't been processed so although the cells were benign, the function was abnormal.
You see the doctor so many times because they are failing to fully investigate and help treat your health issue. Making you feel at fault means you don't visit & they can consider you well.
You must be persistent. Its the only way drs know you still have concerns.
Thank you for your reply. I had only a letter from the doctor saying they diagnosed me with having multinodular goitre and nothing further was going to be done. I'll ask for the detailed result. I was left with nothing at all and didn't even have any explanation what was goitre. I had to goggle.
I think it’s really important you have a full thyroid function & thyroid antibodies. Are you in UK? put country in profile. Most members are from UK. If doctors do not complete a full thyroid test many arrange private test, can be done by post & fingerprick test.
Different department’s will be looking at the psyical health of neck eg if the growth or health of thyroid in need of surgical intervention (ENT) and another with be checking function. (GP / Endocrinology).
Yes I am from UK. They did check my thyroid function and said it was working ok. Not sure what else they did because I was only told that it was working and nothing else need to be done.
Order a kit online and sample can be taken by fingerprick test, (extra fee for clinic visit / home visit venous draw) sample posted back & results available online often very quickly.
Sample recommended to be taken at 09.00 - fast overnight, avoid biotin 3 days before test.

Medichecks thyroid advanced is as good option. Includes key nutrients (also TPO & TG antibodies)
I completely understand where you are coming from. For 25yrs most of what was wrong with me was put down to anxiety. 13yrs ago diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism..It was left and not followed through. I have ended up with Osteoporosis and just had Radioactive Iodine treatment for a multi nodular goitre.
Some doctors need to be held accountable..I'm not a happy 7272yr female..I wish you all the best x
Thank you. I was diagnosed with multi nodular goitre but was not prescribed anything for it.
I often feel that old too! Thanks for the smile.
Please do not stop going to your gp . Keep going back until you get some answers. At one point I was going to the gp every week until finally I saw a lovely gp who listened to me and I was referred for some investigations as it turns out my symptoms weren't all in my head and down to stress and my bipolar .
So please stick to your guns and follow your gut instincts. Try to keep getting appointments with a gp who listens to you although I know this is very difficult to do .
I wish you all the best and I hope you get some answers
