Hello all,I wake up in the morning with a strong sensation of a lump at the base of my throat. As I had surgery in December 23 I was expecting some discomfort for a while but it's not improving. It is worse in the morning then fades somewhat during the day but never fully goes away.
I would like to speak to a doctor about it but my gp will tell me to reduce levo as that's what they think my bloods show - though the steer from this group is probably to increase a little not decrease (which I am trying for the next 8 weeks.)
Is the lump feeling common if you are under active?

Sorry, as I've not had a hemithyroidectomy, I can't usefully answer your question Astrido, but my reply here will bring it back up the feed and hopefully someone will be along to offer their thoughts.
Hi there, i would speak with your GP to check and see if this lump relates to your thyroid or not. I had a lump and found it was caused by enzymes from my acid reflux. After taking Gavison for awhile it went away.
I would ask your GP to arrange a scan. It could be scar tissue, which usually goes away after a while, but it is worth knowing what is causing this symptom.
As a very broad rule ANY lump should always be investigated, but it sounds as if your issue here is the sensation of a lump rather than a physical one. That should still be discussed, but it may be for a whole different reason, including your body still being hypersensitive to the surgery. Things have changed for it and it may still be trying to adapt. But yes, discuss, discuss, discuss.
