i stopped taken levothyroxine and im just taking t3 25mcg a day, i feel better than ever, but for the last few days it feels like i have a permanent lump in my throat, my neck looks slightly swollen, what can it be?is it associated to my thyroid? i've read somewhere that it could be due to lack of iodine...? should i go to my doctors?

Nikki365, If you've reduced Levothyroxine from 175mcg and only replaced it with 25mcg T3 you are probably very undermedicated. Your TSH may be hammering your thyroid gland to produce more hormone and this can cause the thyroid gland to swell and become tender.
You need to increase your T3 dose. 60mcg T3 is equivalent to 180mcg Levothyroxine.
Thanks clutter, I will give it a go, I take the 25mcg every morning, I don't split it as I felt worse when I did that, shall I try 2 tabs in the morning and see how I feel?
Just to add, I do feel absolutely fine better than when I was on t4
Nikki, it might be better to raise by 12.5mcg for a couple of weeks and then by another 12.5mcg as increasing by 25mcg might be a bit of a shock to the system. Arrange an FT3 test when you have been on 50mcg for 4-6 weeks.
Clutter... I increased my dosage today by half 12.5mcg, felt a bit over stimulated, my heart was palpitating more than usual.. Should I continue and see if it settles? Or half that half? The symptoms soon went away early afternoon, feeling fine this evening.
Nikki, Try taking the additional 12.5mcg about 6 hours after your morning dose. If it's too much faff to split dose just add 6.25mcg to you morning dose and up it to 12.5mcg after a week or so.
