Help with thyroid results

Hi, I would appreciate any advice please.

Just had some blood tests done as I am trying to find out why I am so tired.

My TSH is 1.27, FT3 4.4, and FT4 13.5

My Free throxyine is the lowest it's ever been but TSH still 'normal'.

I am cold and gaining weight. I don't feel good.

Any advice on how to increase Free thyroxine? I felt better in the past when my level was 16 or so.

Thanks very much!

Welcome to the group. If you could complete your profile it helps members understand your thyroid journey so far and be able to advise you better. Click on your image icon to start. Fill out the free text box at the top.

Do you have a thyroid condition and on levo or are you looking for a diagnosis?

What time of day was this test taken?

Can you add the reference range for each test - numbers in brackets after your result. Ranges vary between labs.

Have you had your thyroid antibodies tested. NHS test TPO type but privately you can also get Tg tested too.

When hypo we get low stomach acid which means we cannot absorb vitamins well from our food, regardless of a great diet. For thyroid hormone to work well we need OPTIMAL levels of vitamins.

Have you recently or could you ask your GP to test levels of ferritin, folate, B12 & D3? Private tests are available, see link for companies offering private blood tests & discount codes, some offer a blood draw service at an extra cost. thyroiduk.org/testing/priva...

There is also a new company offering walk in& mail order blood tests in London, Kent, Sussex & Surrey areas. Check to see if there is a blood test company near you. onedaytests.com/products/ul...

Only do private tests on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid postal delays.

Hello and welcome

Have you had tests to check your ferritin, B12, Vit D and folate which are all essential for a well functioning thyroid?

Many of us find we need B12 near top of range and Vit D around 100-125, when adding Vit D choose one with K2 the sublingual like Nature Provides works well and they also do a good B12

Free T4 (fT4) 13.5 pmol/L (12 - 22) 15.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 4.4 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 35.1%

T4:T3 Ratio 3.068

Assuming these are the correct ranges (they vary across the labs) your levels are low and fT3 higher than fT4 suggests a struggling thyroid... but as you have discovered NHS are TSH led which makes it tougher when you have possible central hypo😕 you might find talking with a private GP more helpful healthunlocked.com/redirect? thyroiduk.org/contact-us/ge...

thanks very much for looking at the numbers. Yes those are the ranges.

I will speak to a private gp and maybe get some auto-antibody tests done too. There is lots of hypothyroidism in my family.
