Thanks for that helvella I think that means a 28 tab prescription for 5mcg T3 tablets is £55. I take 3 a day on an NHS prescription. So I cost the NHS about £165 a month. So nearly £2k a year. Seems like a lot to me but not sure how that compares to other health problems. Hope I don’t get flagged up as a potential area for cost saving.
Wow, I can see my repeat prescription has been amended from capsules to tablets. I might mail the practice pharmacist and let her know that capsules are cheaper. Or maybe I should keep my head down. It’s weird to feel like Oliver Twist whenever I ask for a repeat prescription.
My consultant asked me to switch from 10mcg plus 5mcg daily to 5mcg x 3 daily. When the practise made the amendment they changed my repeat prescription from capsule to specify pill no idea why. I’ve just messaged them to say capsules are fine hopefully they can change that.
