The list is NOT of brands/manufacturers.

On my blog it says:

The manufacturer or supplier (Sixth column)

The company that supplies this product. This is only shown when there is a sole supplier. Products supplied by two or more companies leave this blank.

Teva and other 20 microgram tablets are in Category M. That is, the various 20 microgram tablets are all treated the same.

Lower down it also says:

The sixth column identifies the manufacturer IF there is only one. Blank if there are two or more.

Thank you very much for sharing helvella ! Interesting that they don’t do 25mcg, it’s still quite pricey, I take 3x 25mcg / day, and you can get pretty much a year’s worth from Abdi Ibrahim Pharmaceuticals (Tiromel) for the same amount of money what the NHS pays for 1 month’s worth of Liothyronine! Ridiculous!

It appears that UK and Germany both went for 20 microgram tablets. Whereas France, Greece, Turkey and most of the world outside Europe went for 25 micrograms.

I have wondered if this is because some companies/countries assessed T3 as being around four times as potent as T4; others five times. (I don't agree with "potency" assessment like this but the argument is long.) And both made tablets that they considered more or less similar in effect to 100 micrograms of levothyroxine?

Also, in the USA, for example, they consider 75 micrograms to be a reasonable daily dose of T3. In the UK they consider 60 micrograms to be reasonable. In both cases, simply three tablets - not a carefully considered dose for the person.

Thank you for this interesting information.

Makes sense what you’re saying, and yes, the dosing makes no sense. The general logic makes no sense either but I guess we are used to that 🙈🙄🤣

When you think that 75 micrograms is most of the way to four times 20 micrograms.

Utterly unevidenced.

I was just going to enquire about Tiromel but see Amazon07 mentioned it, I didn't realise the difference in opinions re the potency . I am currently getting low on my Tiromel, and it appears there is some issues with supply. Trying to figure out which I could change to that isn't going to bankrupt me, and if trying to source a type/brand that NHS does use , might work , incase by some miracle I can eventually get px from them. At the moment taking 25mcg split into 2 doses, might be increasing depending on next weeks blood results.

The UK products are pretty much unobtainable except via a UK pharmacy. Private prices are often the NHS prices plus a margin.

I think the least costly available which can be prescribed in the UK is Thybon Henning - but that requires contacting Roseway. Others have far more information. And it is 20 microgram tablets.

Thanks for the info, hopefully I can keep going as is but I will look into Roseway as a contingency.
