I've always been that person who gets hot first and finds that hard, even when young.
Now I'm perimenopausal (currently stable on hrt) and have hypothyroidism. I am worrying a bit as the weather is warming up as to how I will cope. I feel mostly certain I am one of those people who struggles to regulate body temperature.
How do we cope with that over spring and summer? I also live in a townhouse and sleep at the top. I have two fans and am looking into other options.
Just worried being hot at night especially, or in the day, is going to limit my ability to function and work.

I suffer with heat intolerance to such a degree I have to cancel appointments as my face is a puce colour and dripping visibly - with Lupus too I have to keep away from rays UVAUVB but there are many things to help - there are ice collars and scarves you dampen to put around your neck and keep off coffee and other stimulants - cotton sheets not polyester and cotton tops dresses etc - keep the curtains drawn in day to stop heat building up in bedroom etc. - there are sun hats with UVA protection now and I have a sun protection umbrella - drink water with little salt to replace salts lost or eat packet of crisps - hope this helps !
Not easy then - I think we all do but it is an enemy to some - my dear hubby is Italian and has to put up with me avoiding going out until late afternoon etc.
Hi there I’ve been having night sweats just before I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism! So over 3 years! I manage nights with a 100% cotton sheet! I shut my block out curtains in my bedroom in the daytime trying to keep my bedroom cooler. ❤️ I’m a retired nurse fortunately so don’t have to get up for work 😴
I totally empathise as I too, used to be the work colleague with the bright red shining face. I was so embarrassed. For me, passing through the menopause and getting my thyroid meds optimal, worked wonders. But I realise you want help/advice now.
I was lucky, as at work we were allowed to have fans where the work environment was not air conditioned.
At home, we invested in an air conditioning unit for our bedroom. It cost about £350 but you can get smaller ones or pay more, depending upon your budget.
I have been wondering about ac for my room. We rent so can't alter anything. Can't figured out how I would use it with my window. I saw there are ones with a sort of big tube thing to go out the window.... But needing to have a window open seems counter productive.
Yes, we could only get the type with the pipe going out the window.. With ours, we only have to open the window about 4 inches. It still helps and makes the room much cooler than without it.
