Following on from my last post and medication change a couple of months ago I have now had my latest results.
Test was taken at 8.30am with last meds taken 24hrs beforehand. I have been on 75mcg levothyroxine and reduced my T3 down to 25mcg p/wk (split into 2 x doses) as free T3 was over range and was advised by you lovely lot to get T4 sorted first. I didn’t want to stop T3 completely so reduced quite a bit.
From the latest results it looks as though I could do with a further increase in T4? Not sure what you all think about my T3 range now as it’s dropped a lot.
I feel okish and my hair loss has slowed down although still losing.
Appreciate as always any advice you can give
T4 14.7 ( 11.50-22.70)
T3 3.1 (3.10-7.00)
TSH 0.18 (0.30-5.50)
Thanks

I would increase Levo to 100mcg. Personally, I like to do this in two stages - to 87.5mcg until well tolerated and then to 100mcg. However, other members are able to tolerate an increase of 25mcg. Whatever you decide, I would retest 6-8 weeks after being on a consistent dose.
Thanks for taking the time to reply to me Buddy195. My GP is useless and goes by TSH usually. I’m in my this mess again because they kept reducing my T4 and stupidly I listened to them as was having issues with HRT etc. This seems to have settled as I have finally been given testosterone as well. Not sure if this has an effect? Can I quote the dose/weight guidelines? Shall I keep my T3 dose the same as I have been? I can usually tolerate 25mcg increase so that shouldn’t be a problem
Many members report needing slightly more thyroid meds whilst taking HRT, but I needed a slight decrease. We remaking one change at once, so I wouldn’t adjust Liothyronine at the moment. See what effects the 25mcg Levo has first!
