Hi everyone, just wondered how long you avoid supplements (D, ferratin, folate etc) pre blood test? Thanks

Well, I can give you an answer for biotin - if you take that (or a B complex that includes it):
helvella - Biotin supplementation and testing
A short article about how and why biotin can affect blood tests. Includes information about how to avoid any problems.
If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 5-7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate folate supplement (eg Jarrow methyl folate 400mcg) and continue separate B12 if last B12 was still too low

Never supplement iron without doing full iron panel test for anaemia first and retest 3-4 times a year if self supplementing.
It’s possible to have low ferritin but high iron
Test early morning, only water to drink between waking and test. Avoid high iron rich dinner night before test
Stop iron supplements 5-7 days before testing
Medichecks iron panel test

Stop any other supplements day before test
Medichecks are currently saying no B12 for two weeks prior to test.
thanks so much everyone for the helpful replies and links (I’ll read with interest later today)
