Tirosint (and Tirosint SOL) are not usually available in the UK.
It is technically possible to prescribe them - but they would be "Specials" and likely cost a fortune. (By which, I mean several hundred pounds for 28 capsules. More than the $250 or so it would cost to buy from the USA privately!)
There is a considerable amount of glycerol in the current liquid products - 3780 milligrams per 5 millilitre medicine spoonful. Although not in itself harmful, that can have a significant effect on the digestive system, microbiome, etc. They also contain preservatives (which the Tirosint products do not).
The least expensive way of getting hold of Tirosint would appear to be if you you could get a prescription written by a doctor with prescribing rights in, say, Germany. (Not a UK prescription which is no longer recognised in EU countries.) You could then obtain products from a German pharmacy at German retail prices. But that would all be private - not NHS.
helvella's medicines documents (UK and Rest of the World) can be found here:
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines
helvella has created, and tries to maintain, documents containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world.
This link takes you to a page which has direct links to the documents from Dropbox and Google Drive, and QR codes to make it easy to access from phones.
The UK document contains up-to-date versions of the Summary Matrix for tablets, oral solutions and liothyronine available in the UK.
(Roseway even offer a prescribing service. But don't get too excited - they are very above board and careful and the cost might be more than you can manage.)
Just take a trip to Greece, you can take as many as you want without prescription....I just don't know how you can take them with you back to the UK......
I take tirosint 100μg and it costs 8, 37 euros. I usually take it without prescription cause it's cheaper than be prescribed by my endo and have to pay for the visit.
I have a great thyroid specialist based in Ireland with European prescribing licence- I get my Thybon T3 from a pharmacy in Germany that o send his prescriptions to. I can pm you his details if you like…
