I have been trying to access tirosint (T4 with no fillers) alsimce returning to the uk after living in cyprus (was able to get meds from athens when friends visited there)
I am about to run out and have trawled the internet looking for a solutions , i have been pointed in the direction of roseway labs in uk and they have confirmed they could bring it in to uk, but would cost approx £70 for one months suply... a little over my budget. I could possible fly to greece (again over my budget) and get a stack of meds there but I'm sure there must be an online pharmacy i haven't been able to find in my hours searching the internet. I went onto the German site mentioned on thyroid uk but can't translate the page... every pharmacy site i put tirosint into search comes back with no results.
I have seen my nhs endocrinologist today and he phoned several pharmacies to enquire and he said that tirosint has been bought up by an american pharmaceutical company which may be why i am having trouble getting it.
He wrote me a private prescription yet i still can't afford the £70+ per month.
Does anyone know of a european pharmacy that ships to the uk... ?
Many thanks in advance

Hi Sweeneythyca I realise this is an old post, but I was wondering if you ever managed to find Tirosint to buy cheaper? Or did you get it through Roseway Labs with your private prescription?
Hi, a friend managed to get me a supply from Greece, which is soon to run out. I am back to square one needing to source some. Roseway labs were able to compound a similar preparation but it would have cost £70 a month which is not really ideal as per box(a month) from greece it costs €8.50. Not sure how it will be due to brexit but will email some pharmacies in greece and see what they say, if they are willing to ship here etc.Keep me posted if you have any luck. X
Thank you so much for replying. It's great that you managed to source it from Greece, what a shame you've nearly run out of it. Has it been working well for you? I wish we could have it here, so many other countries can get it. I don't understand why we can't. We are so backward in this country regarding thyroid treatments ☹️.
May I ask you, if you don't mind to message me the name of the Dr you used who said you could get it from Roseway Labs. I am so desperate to try it, nothing else is working and I don't feel as if I can carry on much longer being as chronically ill as I am.
The only place I know to get it from is the US, but it is so expensive to buy, plus on top the charges to bring into UK.
I hope you find a way to source it again. I wish I could help. Take care x
Hi sorry just reread your post, just realised it was your Endocrinologist. Gosh you're lucky that your NHS Endo did that for you, mine is rubbish. He has no idea how to help me.
That's their job, to be fair I pushed and pushed. It's no skin off their nose writting a private prescription, it takes less than a minute, costs them nothing.I pushed him into it, asked him if me being well was a priority or not? He did crumble and even rang whilst I was sat there around trying to source it on NHS, I should add I haven't seen him since as he is bloody useless, I got a referral to a different one but all appts been on phone due to last year.
I was on normal levo for 3 months and felt suicidal, I was so ill and had been sure it was the levo, found tirosint online and knew I had to try it (I did live in cyprus) so was easier to get there and endo there told me about it, if I have to fly to Greece to get it I will (cheaper than anywhere else) I really must email some pharmacies and see if they are willing to ship. If I get any joy I will let you know. I suppose the price will be higher due to brexit though x
What you know as Tirosint isn't always called Tirosint!
Sometimes it is called Syntroxine. Sometimes Tiche. And, at least in Italy, an ordinary levothyroxine tablet is called Tirosint.
Tirosint is readily available in Germany. The problem is the one we all have: It appears that German pharmacies no longer recognise UK prescriptions. Plus whether they will ship to the UK at all.
You can always use Google translate or the translation built-in to Chrome to translate. (Some sites even offer a choice of language.) Or Safari on Apple devices.
The Tirosint I am referring to is just tirosint, its manufactured by IBSA it is a registered trademark not sure about the ones you mentioned, I've been taking it for 2 years and only ever seen Tirosint. I get it from Greece, at least I hope I still do..😖🤭 bloody brexit.
I am not aware of it being available in Turkey. Of course, that doesn't mean it isn't!
helvella's medicines documents (UK and Rest of the World) can be found here:
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines
helvella has created, and tries to maintain, documents containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world.
This link takes you to a page which has direct links to the documents from Dropbox and Google Drive, and QR codes to make it easy to access from phones.
The UK document contains up-to-date versions of the Summary Matrix for tablets, oral solutions and liothyronine available in the UK.
Hi, I have used different Pharmacies in Greece, I still don't have a regular one, My endocrinologist in Limassol used to get me Tirosint when I lived in Cyprus. I recommend going to a local pharmacy and asking them to try to source it for you.
