Hi, I’m new to this site and wondered if anyone could help me?
In 2019 I had a lymph node in my neck that was raised I had a scan done and it was harmless but a “slightly enlarged lymph node” but they stated “that there was some nodular changes in my thyroid but again within the limits” so since then I have been keeping an eye on my thyroid. I had a private test done in 2020 and one in 2022.
the results are all within the normal range but the one from 2022 are as follows;
Thyroxine T4 =78nmol (59-154)
TSH =1.37 mlu/l (0.27-4.2)
Free thyroxine (ft4) =12.2pmol (12-22)
Free triiodothyronine(ft3) =4.6pmol (3.1-6.8)
Anti-thyroid peroxidase= 12.3iu/ml
Anti thyroglobulin antibody =14.3 (0-115)
For the last 6 weeks I haven’t felt well… feel sick, cold, headaches and bloated and no period for 6 months.
When I went to the doctors a couple of weeks ago they just said that’s what happens with polycystic ovaries (which I was diagnosed with in 2005) he just gave me indigestion tablets and said come back in 3 months! I have just reordered another thyroid test for my piece of mind~ but if my Ft4 is lower and tsh stays normal will that be classed as secondary hypothyroidism or not?
Thanks for reading and any help appreciated x

Highly unlikely that your doctor has ever even heard of secondary hypo! Very few of them have. But that is what it looks like. So, if your Frees do continue to fall, and the TSH doesn't rise, insist on seeing an endo.
What time of day was the blood draw for this test?
I will wait for the thyroid test to arrive this week and compare to 2020 and 2022 and see a different doctor as I felt he put it all down to PCOS. Then said there’s a 1% chance it could be menopause but I remember them saying I’m not fat so wouldn’t have PCOS and when the results came back they were quite shocked!
With the other two tests I done in 2020 and 2022 they didn’t come with vitamin D and anaemia test. This test I’ve ordered should be here this week and it includes vitamin D, anaemia and cholesterol so it will be interesting to see the results of that.
I keep waking up with a churning stomach, feel sick and get bloated! I’m still eating but too scared to eat too much incase I get too bloated. My partner says I look pale so quite glad to be testing for anaemia.
For about a year I have had brain fog. Which feels like it’s getting worse~ I work in retail and thought it was just nerves but it’s simple words I forget… or I forget what i was saying! So embarrassing. I have thick black hairs in my chin which have been there for about 2 years (I pluck them out 🤦🏻♀️) but know that can be due to PCOS.
I am aware it could just be a food intolerance or IBS but feel better if I get the thyroid tested before I move on to that.
I am not on any medication at all. No vitamins etc.
And Thank you for the link ~ that’s very interesting x
