Please can someone give me advice with my recent test results

Hi,

I had my thyroid tested again on Thursday.

I've got my results back my FT4 level is 25.7% through the range and my FT3 level is 8.1% through the range. My tsh was 1.35 and optimal is 0.35 to 5.55

I think I may have a conversion issue

I am struggling with every hypothyroidism symptom at the moment and have been for some time :(

Are you diagnosed yet? Conversion issues only apply on treatment with Levothyroxine which is T4 and the body then has to convert it to T3.

If you have your own thyroid then its a different story altogether.

Can you post the vitamin results you have with ranges for each test?

Thank you!

I’m not on thyroid medication or diagnosed yet, I have an appointment with an endocrinologist tomorrow

My most recent test only looked at t3, t4, tsh and anti tpo 15.4 (optimal <34) and anti tg 15.6 (optimal <115)

I had lots of vitamins looked at 4 months ago

My vitamin d at the time was 72 optimal, and my ferritin was 55 (13-150 optimal)

Just one point, so that you know. The range for TSH may be 0.35 to 5.55, but that doesn't mean that any result is optimal. In fact, I would say there is no optimal level for TSH because it doesn't affect how you feel, and just follows the levels of the Frees.

However, a euthyroid TSH - i.e. with not sort of thyroid problem - is around 1. Over 2 means your thyroid is struggling. And, when it reaches 3, you are technically hypo. So, you see, this so-called 'normal' range is far from normal, and totally unrealistic.

What's more, hypos usually need their TSH lower than a euthyroid person because they need their Frees higher. It's the Frees - FT4 and FT3 - that affect how you feel. And that is a very individual thing. So, once a TSH goes below 1, it really is of little use, and should never be used to dose by. Just a word to the wise. :)

Do you supplement with b12?

No I don’t

Unless you are eating copious amounts of food with b12 😉, the high levels could be a reason to do further investigations. It could be high for a myriad of reasons, nothing productive by listing them all out. But it is good to check a few things out such as liver or kidney issues. Simply to cross them off as a reason for your symptoms.

All the best to you. Hope you get it all figured out soon.
