What you've given us are the results. You haven't given us the ranges. Therefore it's rather difficult for anyone to comment. Could you add the ranges, please, the numbers in brackets after the results? :)

You're welcome. And do try and get the ranges, because they vary from lab to lab. So, we need the ranges that went with your results to make sense of them.

Even without the ranges, your ft4 to fT3 ratio is worse than 5:1, indicating poor conversion.

Now that’s super useful - thank you!

Ask surgery if you have had any ferritin, b12, folate and vit D tests too and what were results and ranges? They need to be optimal , in upper part of range etc, to aid good thyroid health and conversion.

Thank you I will ask

Bone pain is often low vitamin D - extremely common with hypothyroidism k especially with Hashimoto's

Sweats at night low B12 common hypothyroid problem

Constipation common if still hypothyroid and FT3 is low

Just testing TSH tells nothing

Full Thyroid and vitamin testing essential

If hypothyroid, especially if cause is Hashimoto's, We frequently need to supplement some or all these vitamins virtually continuously in order to keep optimal levels

Thank you I will follow your advice

I agree with SlowDragon.

I wish you also had RT3 result as that would be helpful BUT I think you could benefit from T3 added to your Levo.

Hey Buzz 👋 Try to put your results like this :-

TSH 0.29 (0.27 -4.2)

FT4 18.8 (????)

FT3 3.6 (????)

If you set it out this way it’s easy to interpret.

If what I’m thinking is correct the same thing happened to me. I kept increasing my Levo to feel better but my FT4 only got to the top range a few times and didn’t make any difference because my FT3 was always at the very bottom range.

I really would like to know why I got Hyper symptoms even though my FT3 was so low. The only thing that helped was to add T3. Now my FT4and FT3 are only middle range but I feel perfect 👌

Now that's interesting-experiencing similar issues only just experienced tachycardia (120) yesterday with a normal BP ! Also bathroom issues last nigh and this morning but now I feel fine. No meds today which is only 60 mcg of levo, down from 65ml of armour which I was overmedicated on. Just can't get this right ! Tsh is around 1.30 very low T3 2.5 range 2.0- 4.4 don't have t4 but I know it was low.long road coming down of too much (about 3 months now) and just can't seem to normalize. I'm afraid adding t3 could cause palpitations ?? trust Doc's less and less (-: Your are not alone...

I don’t think adding T3 will cause palipitations. Your FT3 is really low. Have you been on Levo long enough? Do you need another test before adding? If it is a concern then it is sensible to add in slowly over a few weeks (I didn’t but I’m a bit gun ho 😬) did you try just reducing Armour or it just really didn’t work out for you?

armour was okay until I increased it by 15mg. Then I ended up in ER after a couple weeks. New Doc says armour is unreliable due inadequate calculations on strength.I will be tested again later this week but t3 does spook me too, although my doc said most people feel better on a little. Been on this ride for about 4 years now. Was stable on 100mcg Tirosint a few years ago. Doc went back to India, new doc let me try armour, all started there LOL. Really armour had side effects one of which was the odor coming off of me ! Didn't whole heartedly trust it..

Do you were stable and then something must have changed? Such a shame that it all went south 😩 Don’t be scared of T3. FT4/3 tests after 6wks and then if your FT3 still looks low and your FT4 is higher in range then add T3. It’s really not demonic 😀

Thanks Paula I feel way more secure talking to people on here then with some of the Doc's I've seen. Yes I think I want to try a low dose of t3 while on Tirosint .50. It's amazing what happens once you've been overmedicated. Hard to find a new normal.

Paula6 thanks for that but my doctor didn’t test FT4and FT3 on my last blood tests and says everything is in range I’ve just been discharged from my endocrinologist im just confused

Bit you did put FT4/3 results in your post, so you just need the range to go with them. You also need to get yourself a full thyroid history. You have one from June, any others? Get another one done in August and repeat till you see a pattern of symptoms and test results but you cannot rely on TSH. You either convince your GP to do it or you get it done privately but no one can guide you if you don’t have a history 😬

Ok I’m thinking of having bloods done privately but thank you
