So following on from my last post having a rant about gp, (it's like she's going to say 'I told you so') Having refused my medichecks blood tests and having to go to gp for repeat bloods, the results are much improved (although still feeling symptomatic) Medichecks taken 4th July:
TSH 2.19 (0.27 - 4.2)
T4 17.5 ( 12 - 22 ) 55% through range
T3 3.4 ( 3.1 - 6.8 ) 8.11% through range
Taken at 7.30am
Gp bloods taken 27th july:
TSH 1.23 ( 0.3 - 5 5 )
T4 18.3 ( 12 - 22 ) 63% through range
T3 3.6 ( 3.1 - 6.8 ) 13.5% through range
Taken at 8.30am
I know it sounds silly but it's as if she's trying to prove me wrong... and she is right. As these bloods are confusing me, in just a few weeks apart how they are so different! Is that normal... without a change in medication?

Maybe others will disagree, but I don't see these results as 'much improved'. Your FT3 is still lagging disproportionately behind your FT4. If anything, it shows you have a case for endocrinologist appointment, as despite your FT4 approaching the top of the range your FT3 is hardly moving anywhere.
But that's a rational conversation for a GP who will agree the FT3 is useful.
Thanks for your reply Alanna, and yes this is the ongoing dispute I have, She said the previous blood tests (medichecks) all looked good (but then requested gp blood tests) I really wish I could have a 'rational discussion' about it 😵💫
I know Eeyore, for 3 years it's been like this. I know it's not a long time for what some people have to endure, but I'm just so tired of trying to explain. It's like I'm begging !
My old doctor left (which I had the same issues with) and I'm now starting all over again with this one, I've also spoke to another gp at the surgery, and their response was exactly the same. It is a no zone for t3 as I'm in Derbyshire. But I wanted a referral (to the only recommended endo on thyroid uk site who is in Sheffield, NHS and private, but no longer taking on new patients) So at least I could then purchase my own t3 on his recommendation
Were both tests done early morning, ideally around 9am and only drinking water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
Do you have Hashimoto’s
How much levothyroxine are you taking

What vitamin supplements are you taking
What were most recent vitamin D folate, ferritin and B12
Medichecks taken at 7.30am, gp bloods taken at 8.30am, only water beforehand and levo 24hrs beforeYes I've got hashimotos and currently taking 112.5mcg per day My weight is 53kg
