Just received my latest blood test results. Have been on 5mg of Carbimazole daily. Had been feeling more tired since Christmas, therefore asked in May to take it on alternate days- the nurse agreed to this and just said to up it if I felt I was going hyper again. Feel much less tired and have energy now. Results today are:
TSH 1.74
T3 3.2
T4 13
Am negative for antibodies.
My question is, if I was going to become hyper would it have happened by now - nearly 3 months on half dose?
Thank you for your always useful replies.

By most ranges those frees look low. Might be time to take 2.5 every other day.
Which antibodies were tested?
If lowest dose of carbimazole lowers levels too much , means it’s time to stop, negative TSI or TRab is previously positive a good sign for remission.
When reducing / stopping carbimazole there’s always a concern control of levels is affected or “relapse” occurs.
Unfortunately with Graves this is a possibility and some can remain in remission months / years then unexpectedly relapse. Ongoing monitoring and seeking checks if symptomatic is required.
Thank you PurpleNails for your reply. I have always tested negative for anti bodies right from the start: TRAB, TSI, TG and TPO. My ranges are as follows:
TSH 1.74 Range 0.35-5.0
T3 3.2 Range 3.0-6.
T4 13 Range 9.0-21.0
Nuclear scan showed normal thyroid with no nodules and normal uptake.
Thank you, again. They have no idea why they rose. All antibodies were tested for both hyper and hypo because we discussed possibility of Hashimotos. I suggested it could have been a mixture of the Covid jags and menopause. They thought I’d have had an almost immediate reaction after the covid jags, not months later. I’m still not convinced that’s not what caused it 🤷🏻♀️I may try going down to 2.5 Carbimazole alternate days and see if anything changes then, as you suggest, come off it all together. Thank you for your help.
