Hello lovely ladies hope your all ok, I thought I wasn’t going to get my results this time ,which I will print out later, when I rang for a print out of my latest results the receptionist said hang on a minute when she came back she said I will send a message to the dr to see if that’s ok ,so I said well you haven’t done that before they normally just print them out,she said something had changed, but didn’t explain what what it was ,so I said so what do I do now, she said well you can ring up later, which I did speaking with a different receptionist who said wait a minute I’m just going to speak with my colleague when she returned she said nobody has said we can print them off,so I said well I haven’t had all this before when I had the other 2 print offs , so then I said you do know I am entitled to have a print out of my results, she then seem to change and said all right I will print them off for you,so thanks to you all for telling me I am entitled as before coming to this cite I didn’t know.

Well I can’t say I’m feeling any better seem to drop off to sleep some days ,I was up this morning at 9 and still felt so tired sat and had a drink and woke up 11-45 sat there thinking oh my god and then woke again at 1 o’clock haven’t any energy or up and go my body thermostat is upside down itchy skin and several other things I’m on 200 thyroxine taken as they should be taken , also vit d folate which have improved I was wondering now about b12 as there’s a note at the side of it and it’s going back to 2019 wondering if you could say what you think about that please,

Well I won’t keep on as I know you have a lot of us to deal with and need your help but have appreciated everything you have all done for me , thanks Pauline .

I hope they have all come through should be 4

So you have obviously been working on improving low vitamin levels

Ferritin was 46

Now much better at 72

Folate was deficient at 2.5

Now 14

Vitamin D- was ok just at 76

Now 118

But Ft4 and Ft3 are roughly same as previous results

Ft3 is too low

Which brand of levothyroxine are you currently taking

Has brand changed recently

You’re almost certainly going to need the addition of small dose of T3 prescribed alongside levothyroxine

GP not allowed to prescribe

You need to see thyroid specialist endocrinologist

Email Thyroid UK for list of recommend thyroid specialist endocrinologists who will prescribe T3

NHS and Private

tukadmin@thyroiduk.org

Roughly where in U.K. are you

Obviously at moment NHS has even longer waiting times than normal

Realistically looking at private consultation if possible

Some endocrinologist are doing consultations on zoom or phone …..sending your test results and short list of current ongoing symptoms before consultation

Private prescription enables access to Thybon Henning 20mcg tablets via specialist pharmacies in U.K. Typical dose is 5mcg taken 3 x day - cost about £11 per month

Can I ask would having a extra dose of thyroxine bring it up a bit more could I do that thankyou for all your hep oh and what do you think of b12 as well thanks again

Ft4 is 64% through range Ft3 only 14% through range

Helpful calculator for working out percentage through range

chorobytarczycy.eu/kalkulator

TSH suppressed at 0.01

GP won’t want to increase levothyroxine with suppressed TSH

Ideally when adequately treated both Ft4 and Ft3 will be approx 60% through range

Common for conversion to get worse as we get older, especially after menopause

Likely to need addition of T3 prescribed alongside levothyroxine. Typically 5mcg at 2 or 3 doses spread through the day

Looking at previous posts

Originally you were on Aristo 200mcg and were taking levothyroxine incorrectly as were taking it at same time as multiple medications

Now taking Teva?

Or have you changed brand?

Presumably you now are very careful to take levothyroxine well away from all other medications and supplements

Are you still taking Lansoprazole

Are you on lactose free diet

If not request GP test for lactose intolerance

Or just trialing strictly dairy/lactose free diet

Similarly have you had coeliac blood test done

Are you now on strictly gluten free diet

Kowbie profile image
Kowbie in reply toSlowDragon

Thankyou I’m still on teva lansaprozol I did stop taking don’t know if I should really start again ,other things I’m on are sertralin100,amiodipine5mg aspirin 75mg co codamol 30mg. Folic 5 mg vit d magnesium selenium I think that is it ,I’m not on lactose intolerant diet and not had any tests for it, I haven’t had coeliac blood test , I didn’t know I should be on a special diet thanks again

Do you know if you have ever had thyroid antibodies tested when originally diagnosed

About 90% of primary hypothyroidism is autoimmune thyroid disease (also called Hashimoto’s) diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies

Suggest as next step you get thyroid antibodies tested privately, plus TSH, Ft4 and Ft3

medichecks.com/products/thy...

Always test as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Important to know if cause of your hypothyroidism is autoimmune thyroid disease (hashimoto’s)

High numbers of Hashimoto’s patients find that gluten free diet and/or lactose free diet often helps, sometimes significantly

Kowbie in reply toSlowDragon

Thankyou I wouldn’t know about that do you think I could ask surgery if they could give me that answer ,although as I said had a bit of trouble getting these results, DIDNT they do antibodies this time I did ask them to thanks

SlowDragon profile image
SlowDragonAdministrator in reply toKowbie

NHS only ever tests thyroid antibodies once …..usually at or soon after diagnosis

How long ago were you diagnosed

Kowbie profile image
Kowbie in reply toSlowDragon

Kowbie profile image
Kowbie in reply toSlowDragon

Sorry to disturb you again but you said about antibodies and also to test for tosh ft4 ft3 I have just had them tested ,I keep wondering if I didn’t put all my results on and put something on twice ,

SlowDragon profile image
SlowDragonAdministrator in reply toKowbie

No you put them all on there

But if you test thyroid antibodies privately the test is only offered as part of full thyroid testing

You can’t just test thyroid antibodies

Recommend getting FULL thyroid and vitamins tested again before seeing any thyroid specialist endocrinologist…..especially if paying for private consultation

You need to know if you have high thyroid antibodies as this confirms autoimmune thyroid disease

About 90% of primary hypothyroidism is autoimmune

Strictly gluten free diet frequently helps or is essential and always worth trying

But get coeliac blood test done BEFORE cutting gluten out
