Latest blood results, TSH.. Bad again

Hi everyone ❤️

OK thought I'd posted this but can't find it, probably brain fog fogot to press post.. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Saw a lovely junior doctor yesterday about my latest thyroid blood results, I was on 10 mg T3, my TSH was 19.32, gp increased it by 5mg making it 15mg T3, been on that for 4 weeks then increased another 5mg making a total of 20mg, my TSH is now 14.23, obviously it's come down, but I'm having terrible hyper symptoms, this always happens when I increase the T3, happened on T4 also, the junior Dr noticed a fast heartbeat, sweating, tremor, I showed her a photo of the skin rash also, she said she did not want me to increase any further but also said my TSH was not that high at 14.23🤔 OK but I feel awful, no improvement in symptoms, just not getting any better, she is going to speek to my endo about the fast heartbeat, sweating ect, so just have to wait for that response, she also noticed my very croaky voice which I've had since before my total TT, she examined my kneck then commented on my treatment of radioactive iodine therapy(ablation) and said some times the thyroid tissue can cause problems, OK I said but I've had total thyroidectomy, ho right was her answer, she said she could feel some slight swelling to the right hand side of my neck, that is where I have some sharp pains, and some difficulty in swallowing, I'm really worried that if I can't increase my T3 without going in to hyper symptoms how can I reduce the TSH.. I'm obviously going to need a bigger increase as its still at 14.23,

Thank you❤️❤️

The hyperthyroid symptoms aren’t true hyperthyroidism

Has anyone suggested testing your adrenals

Has anyone suggested you try propranolol alongside T3. This can help adrenals tolerate thyroid levels increasing

Hi slowdragon ❤️Had my cortisol checked the test was OK I was producing cortisol, my mam had hypothyroidism, and my best friend as hypothyroidism, my symptoms are nothing like theirs, my friend can't get warm, always cold, I'm always hot and sweaty, she has tiredness, I have utter exsaustion, can't climb my stairs with out feeling like I've run a marathon, her heart rate is what she would call slow mine is fast, she sleeps I've got insomnia what I can't get a grip on is when I was on 10mg T3 my symptoms of hyper were mild, I actually got in to a sleep pattern but obviously the amount of T3 at 10mg was not enough to lower the TSH.. Going up from 10mg to 20mg has caused it to lower from 19.32 to 14.23...but on doing this my symptoms become worse, belive me I know what hyper symptoms are like, I had them before diagnosis of hyperthyroidism later graves, going in to thyroid storm, after total thyroidectomy I thought I'd loose these symptoms, I did after my op I felt fantastic the day after, no tremor, no sweating, heartbeat normal I slept, it was great I thought I'd cracked it, but then I started on the thyroid meds at 175mg T4... In no time I felt the hyper symptoms returning, even the surgeon noted it, and lower the dose, until I was eventually on 25mg T4, then changed to T3 at 125mg again hyper symptoms, both myself and my gp decided I should start lower down at 10mg T3.. And do bloods every 7 weeks, re set which I have been doing, again the more I take the more I have hyper symptoms???? One doctor who I saw said I maby have a problem with hypersensitivity to the thyroid meds🤷‍♀️... And another said to much T3 can cause hyper symptoms, but I'm only on 20mg, Trully not enough to move my TSH much, so I'm lost just waiting on endos recommendation again, I asked about taking T3 and T4 combination but gp yesterday was dismissive as my heart rate was fast, I'm totally lost, I had a period last year again having a bad colitis flare up where I vomited so couldn't take the T3, truthfully I felt OK no sweating, heart beat OK, slept OK, not jittery, so I reckon it's the meds I'm taking, I'm not very good on synthetic meds, I have big problems with them, as was noted at the hospital, I've been on beta blockers made no difference, so back to just suffering😔😔😔

Many hypothyroid patients get non typical symptoms

Being hot all the time

Anxiety

Weight loss

Palpitations

Fast heart rate

Etc

When extremely hypothyroid adrenals try to compensate for lack of thyroid hormones and go into overdrive.

Block and replace may be necessary to damp your adrenals down

Propranolol might help reduce adrenaline and help you tolerate increasing T3

(But you can’t have propranolol if you get asthma)

Thank you slowdragon for replying I'm at my wits end, you mentioned adrenals that's why the endo requested the cortisol test, but as I said everything was OK... My mum was hypo, my friend is hypo, but both keep their thyroids, unfortunately my mum died of motor neuron some years ago but she put weight on, so has my best friend its a real bug bare with her as she can't shift it, can I ask what block and replace is, I have heard of it but can't remember what it is, also can I ask, about taking pranaprol, I took it for hyperthyroidism overactive thyroid it did nothing for my heart, OK I was really toxic at that point, I went in to tachycardia several times even on propranolol, another thing that has been happening is if I get a shock like dropping something, or a fright, my body goes in to a weird sensation can only discribed it as a rush then I get server pins and needles in my head and arms/legs, then I have what I can only say is a come down then I'm exhausted, and I have sit down to recover with shaking afterwards it's awful...Thanks again slowdragon ❤️❤️

Sounds typical of adrenal exhaustion

Your adrenals are unable to keep up.

Are you currently taking any B vitamin complex to improve low B12

Hi slowdragon ❤️I'm taking horbaach, vegan methylcobalain, B12 2,500 mouth spray, daily, as my gp refused to do vitamins /minerals only managed to get vitamin D done, my b 12 was 352 ng/L on Dec 12 /2020..ranges.. 197.00...771.00 ng/L... Its says no further testing for b 12 within one year... So will not test at surgery..
