I have been feeling horrid. Exhausted, weight gain, low mood, tinnitus, aches, constipation.
(I have an added complication, (I had an extensive bilateral pulmonary emboli in March caused by Covid illness in February. I'm on blood thinners. I won't go into those details...)
Regarding my thyroid problems, test results are below.
Can somebody explain the change in T4?
Does that mean I have moved across to being hyperthyroid?
I do not have hyperthyroid symptoms which is puzzling.
Sunbee. Do you still have your thyroid? If yes, then as you have autoimmune thyroid disease then the high ft4 result mat be as a result of the latest attack on the thyroid. During an attack more t4 is released causing a temporary rise in levels
Did you take your Levo on the morning of the test? If so then it can push the numbers up much higher than if you left 24 hours from Last Levo dose until the blood test.
Thank you for replying. I do still have my thyroid. I forgot that I shouldn't have taken levo before the blood test!!!! Nurse said she would make a note for the lab. and they would calculate accordingly. (another problem is brain fog!) I feel awful. I have an occasional normal day without fog and tinnitus. I try to walk 2 miles a day or use treadmill. I can't exercise more vigorously (e.g. swimming or running) because of the PE as my heart rate rises quickly. (I always feel so much better after a form of exercise.)
Supplements: Thorne Basic B Complex (stopped this 3 days before the test), vitamin D3 4000iu/K2 combination, selenium, Omega 3 (Krill) Zinc, Co-enzyme Q10 and Healthspan Pro50 Probiotic
I've been on 100mg Levothyroxine since end January 2023.
I am on estrogen patches and Ultrogestan progesterone but will stop as I am anxious about negative impact on my health. I have read that Levo needs to be increased when taking estrogen so my TSH may lower when I stop HRT completely?
