My results are:

Free t4 12.8 pmol/L (Range 9-24u)

TSH 0.96 mU/L (Range 0-3-6U)

How does that look?

Under-medicated. Your FT4 isn't even mid-range. It should be at least over mid-range. But, it would be a good idea to get your FT3 tested, because that gives you a clearer idea what's going on. :)

Thanks for your response. I just phoned in for the result of the Free T3 and it's 5.1 I'm taking 75mcg Levo and 12.5 mcg Liothyronine The last time I was tested was July 2017 The results then were Free T4 14 TSH 0.34 and Free T3 7.9 pmol/L (Range 3.5-6.5 U) I am managing the T3 myself because I buy them from Greece so I thought I should reduce my Liothyronine - I cut it from 25 down to 12.5mcg

Ah. Well, it would have been helpful if you'd put that information in the question. As you're taking T3, the only useful test is the FT3. If you're taking T3, the TSH and FT4 are going to be low, but you probably won't be undermedicated. Is the FT3 range the same as last time? If so, you could increase your T3 by 6.25 mcg if you feel the need.

But, you cut down by too much, if you did it all in one go. Reductions in dose should be by just 6.25 mcg every two weeks, just like increases.

Thank you for your advice. Yes, the range is the same.

I think I will increase again as there is a marked weight increase. It's a bit difficult to gauge dosages when GPs seem to be of limited assistance

Once again, thank you

Well, we can only do the same as an intelligent doctor would do, increase by small amount at certain intervals. You don't have to guess the end dose straight off, not even a doctor can do that. You just keep increasing slowly until you feel well.

Not what you're looking for?
