Hi..I havent posted on here for quite some time as all has been ok so far. I just have a question...my 13 year old daughter is currently on 100 mcg levo and had a bloot test very recently..her results are TSH 1.1 and T4 16.4..the bloods were taken at 10 a7m but her last dose was the day before at 7 am. The last time she had a test was in March 2023 after her dose was increased in January. She was previously on 100mcg 5 days a week and then 75 mcg 2 days a week her results in March was 0.77 ( 0.5 _ 4.0) and T4 was 21.2 (11 - 22.4) in march the test was done exactly 24 since her last dose.
Do u think her T4 is actually higher than what has been shown on test as test was done 27 hours after last dose? By looking at her results i know that she does need an adjustment and i am waiting for her endo to get in touch.
Also to add further i havent been on top of her vitamin B complex as i stopped this for a while as she was taking antibiotics..she has had 3 lots in a row since 24th feb as she developed a terrible abcess in her cleft area it took 3 courses to clear it but the March blood test that was done was good even though she had just finished her antibiotics. Could it be that the antibiotics have caused poor absorption now?
The reason why her blood test was done recently was because she was starting to fall asleep on the sofa when she comes back from school. Her ferritin levels were 69 in March and Vitamin D was 60.
Thank you

Her FT4 may have been a fraction higher had she left exactly 24hrs since last Levo dose. Her TSH is now above 1 though and dose timing wouldn;t change that. Even a 12.5mcg increase might help.
Her FT4 is currently only at 47% so she has plenty of room for an increase.
Free T4 (fT4) 16.4 pmol/L (11 - 22.4) 47.4%
Have you managed to get a private test for her FT3? See link for companies offering private blood tests & discount codes, some offer a blood draw service at an extra cost. thyroiduk.org/help-and-supp...
There is also a new company offering walk in & mail order blood tests in Crawley, Hove and Reigate areas. Check to see if there is a blood test company near you. onedaytests.com/products/ul...
Its not really necessary to stop B vitamins due to being on antibiotics. Its likely beneficial to continue them if the body is run down. Better levels of B vitamins would help the body heal. Important to restart B complex.
All hypo people have absorption issues due to low stomach acid. Antibiotics tend to mess up the gut microbiome so a probiotic or just a glass of kefir a day can help with that.
Her vit D is too low. Vitamin D should be around 100 - 150. Buy one that includes vit K2 to help it go to your bones. Some are available in oil or you can take it with an oily meal for better absorption. Use this calculator to work out how much to take to get your level to 100-150. wildatlantichealth.com/vita...
