Finally got test results done on the 28 Feb at 08.55. Fasted for 13 hours no thyroxine for 24 hours. TSH was 2.32 (as I mentioned in my previous post) Ferritin - 38ug/L, Serum Folate - 7.1ugl/L, Vit D - 54, Vit B12 - 292 ng/L. I asked for T3 and 4 and antibodies too but Doctor said it would depend on what the Lab's decision. I've been on the 75mcg's nightly for only a week so no improvement yet. I would really appreciate feedback from you both Thanks.

Thyroid levels will need retesting 6-8 weeks after being on 75mcg levothyroxine every day

Suggest you get tested privately then to include thyroid antibodies TSH, Ft4 and Ft3+

Which brand of levothyroxine are you currently taking

All four vitamins are too low

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Hi SlowDragon, I'm taking Levoxine an Australian brand and am trying to get Glenmark or Tirosint as I don't want Teva. I have only recently started taking B12, B complex vit D and K2.

Are you in the UK? (I assumed you were until you mentioned Australian levothyroxine!)

Glenmark have stopped marketing their levothyroxine in the UK.

And your chances of getting Tirosint are very close to zero, I'm afraid.

I returned from Australia recently and yes I am lactose intolerant. I am now on 75mcg's, since 10 days ago, was on 50/75 alternating. I can't seem to find a L F brand

Thanks for that. It makes a bit more sense now.

Other than Teva, the only other UK lactose-free is Aristo. And that is currently only in 100 microgram dosage. (We are hopeful of further dosages becoming available - maybe later this year?)

The official view is that these Aristo tablets should not be split to divide doses. But, in many other countries where they are supplied, there are express instructions on how to split the tablets with finger pressure alone! However, that would only get you to 50 microgram dosages. A second split would be more difficult and less reliable.

Eltroxin is not lactose-free. Aristo - I've mentioned!

And, given you have been in Australia, the Eltroxin we get in the UK is from Advanz/Mercury Pharma. Whereas the Eltroxin in most other countries is from Aspen. They have different formulations, dosages, etc.
