As to your doc - being over medicated does not make you hyperthyroid. Both of your thyroid hormones are with in range. In fact you’re FT3 is scraping at the bottom!
Hypothyroidism and Hyperthyroidism are two different diseases that happen to occur in the same organ - the thyroid.
It is wrongly characterised as being either end of a scale but this is a gross oversimplification. Your doctor obviously falling into that trap.
For instance, medically induced hypothyroidism, when someone who is suffering hyperthyroidism has their thyroid removed, or has radiation treatment or medication, is not the same as Central or Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism.
The aetiology of these diseases is very different. It is really quite disturbing how ignorant doctors are to this and how lines are blurred and things are lumped in together that never should be.
You may need to get private bloods to get the full picture but from what I see here, obviously ignoring TSH, conversion seems very poor.
I have had a lower conversion rate on my last blood test but previously it was good so the only other thing that is out of whack are my B 12 and folate on the low side.
I have slow motility in my bowels, very common for people with hypothyroidism, and I am constantly tweaking my diet to improve the situation.
Inulin and psyllium husk Are great for soluble fibre and I’m on a gluten-free diet.
I’ve noticed if I eat carb rich food that is high in sugar that can make me a bit clogged. Cereals can be very problematic too, so I don’t have a lot of cereals, but the modern gluten-free breads do have psyllium husk in - I use the Promise brand but all of them seem to have improved the last couple years. That helps and a bit of a walk every day.
We are all different and it takes a while to work out what works best
Do you take any other medications at all apart from your thyroid medication?
Never supplement iron without doing full iron panel test for anaemia first and retest 3-4 times a year if self supplementing. It’s possible to have low ferritin but high iron
I did it maybe 5 months ago - and Tibic etc testing done and all in range.
I can’t take iron supplements due to constipation. Gp did not prescribe and it was never even mentioned by endo either.
I will try get new tests but they are refusing to test. It’s very frustrating. I was taking a multi vitamin with iron in but stopped as constipation so bad. It’s bowel paralysis in parts.
I am having liver once a week and beef but with Supplements before it was 30 so I’m worried it’s dropped . It maybe 35 I can’t remember .
I’m very very exhausted so I will make sure I have some beef this week.
