Help with my Mum's results please.

Please could someone help with some advice on my mum's results:

TSH 0.01 mIU/L (0.35 - 4.94) -7.4%

Free T4 (fT4) 26.8 pmol/L (9 - 19) 178.0%

Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TgAb) 33.5 IU/mL (≤ 4.11)

Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPO) 4.58 IU/mL (≤ 5.61)

Haemoglobin 13.1 g/dl (12.4 - 16.7) 16.3%

Ferritin 212 ng/ml (20 - 300) 68.6%

She had a bad fall a few weeks ago and she doesn't remember how it happened, she is shaky and says she feels very down.

What is the best way to reduce her medication to get her within range (she is on 200mcg Eltroxin and lives in South Africa)?

Hi , assuming she's been on 200mcg for quite a long while ? ,

if so , then i would do it gradually , rather than a big/ sudden drop

eg. reduce dose to 175mcg for 6 weeks then retest bloods to see the effect of fT4 / fT3.

Don't go by the TSH result because it can get 'stuck' on low id dose has been to high for a while . go by fT4 and fT3 levels instead .

when you retest in 6 weeks . make sure last dose levo is 24 hrs before test .

I will do. I don't think she has had them tested for ages.

Make sure she doesn't have a UTI. I just had a loved one fall twice and only after the second fall did we realize that she had a UTI.
