Adrenal gland concentrate recommendation? Used Nutri Advanced but now discontinued.

Hi, I cycle on and off thyroid/adrenal support as needed. I’ve just gone back on T3 (self sourced) and went to order more Adrenal Glandular and see Nutri Advanced have discontinued their product that I’ve used for years.

I did see Thorne Research sell one but it is much more expensive.

Does anyone have a good recommendation?

I’d appreciate both recommendations on brand and where to buy.

Many Thanks!

Ps. For further details, it was an endo (many moons ago) who recommended that when I take T3 or NDT to support the adrenals at the same time.

I just started on the Thorne one when somebody on here recommended it. I bought it from eBay! Arrived sealed etc & looks authentic.

I think it might be helping. I take T3 only & I think it may worsen my blood sugar balance a bit. I was getting serious sugar cravings especially mid morning. They’ve disappeared! I haven’t changed anything else to explain the change.

I feel calmer too which since I’m moving house in a couple of weeks is remarkable.

Thank you so much! And that’s a fantastic “bonus” with the blood sugar regulation and calmness. The whole hormone cascade is such a delicate thing isn’t it. Not always easy to know what’s best.

I’ve had other Thorne supplements, they definitely are a good company.

Fingers crossed you keep feeling good on the combo and best wishes for your move, lots of breathing you’ll be great. Thanks again! Hugs

hello Elka,

I am currently transitioning my existing/ remaining stock of Nutri Adrenal to Nutricology/ Allergy Research. And I purchase it from YHB ( yourhealthbasket.co.uk ) .

I am taking their ;-“ Adrenal Natural Glandular.” They are exactly the same ingredients as Nutri Adrenal and they are also 100mg capsules.

Hi, thank you that’s fantastic! And a site I’ve not come across before, after a quick skim they covered some amazing brands (I used to buy my Nutri adrenal from Your Nutrion Shop). Ouchie though prices sure are more expensive since I last bought.

And a 100mg swap would be great, as I’m sure with, you we take enough pills daily it’s nice to find the higher dose ones.

Really appreciate your help, hugs

your welcome….I would just say that the Nutricology capsules seem stronger and more effective. I was even recommended by an assistant at YHB, to switch low and slow, which I now do, as the side effects for the first week of each switch are very exhausting, and that’s with taking 1/2 a capsule at a time. Yes Nutricology is more expensive, but I was told (again by YHB, that it appears to be a more effective product.) Plus they have 150 capsules in each pot, whereas Nutri Adrenal only have 100 capsules per pot.

I wish you all the best, only too pleased to help !

Thank you for adding all the extra details that’s fantastic to hear, sounds very promising. And adds even more faith in the (website)company also. I will definitely take a proper look next I’m on my computer, both at the company and the product. Thanks again 😊

hello again Elka, I thought I’d add that taking the Nutricology and reducing the NA at the same time, has been uncomfortable for me, regarding side effects. Mostly for the first week of each increase. I’ve had :- heavy heads, woosey, very tired and at times weak and low. But that settles after a week. - however I happen to be sensitive. But you may not get any side effects ?

I also took 6 NA tabs for about 6 years, so it is therefore a disturbance to the system, and although they have the same ingredients, it’s a very differently made capsule by a different company in a different country.

If I can be of any more help at any time , you are welcome to PM me! All the best…….Diana.

Diana you are a superstar!! Really helps me to hear your experience. And gosh I understand if you were on such a high dose the body will take some adjusting to the new. I was there also years ago thankfully in the last few years I’ve found myself in a place where I now only use thyroid/adrenal support a few stints a year (hard to know what’s for the best sometimes!) and at much lower doses so fingers crossed for a smooth transition.

I might very well ask your kind advice once my current T3 (I have some NDT stashed too) supply runs low. It’s been a while since I sourced any.

With best wishes and my thanks, Eva

Hi Elka, I’m sorry to bother you once more, but I’m intrigued to read that you were “ once where I was years ago” but you are clearly in a much better place now ? If you can , can you tell me how you managed to reduce your adrenal situation ?

When I went to my 1st functional doctor (very expensive), with a small adrenal problem, I was put on Ashwaghanda, for a couple of years and that lowered the cortisol. Then a friend encouraged me to see Dr P. - He said as the Ashwaghanda I’d been taking had been helping me, I should increase taking it to twice a day and also take some of his Ginseng Drops as well. Needless to say within 3 months I felt worse.

At that time SeasideSusie, had had the same treatment and we got to know each other. Both of us had done some research, and discovered how adaptogens (except licorice) lowered cortisol.

So both our Cortisol ‘s had gone right down. It was a good support at the time!
