I’ve been taking Nutri Advanced freeze dried Adrenal extract (capsules) for nearly 1 year due to low cortisol readings (Not Addisons). It’s meant to be hormone free. Has anyone had experience of these and if so, how did you find weaning off then?

Thank you for your reply. It’s reassuring as I’ve heard some thyroid groups warn about whole glandulars - I think these they presume it has steroids in them
I've taken them for years as suggested by Dr Peatfield. I was originally told to take about 6 a day for my low adrenal, however I didn't notice any difference and I went onto cortisol therapy. I still take them but have reduced them over the years as they are quite expensive. I do feel quite hypoadrenal some days so I would like to increase the amount again if I could afford them because I'd like to see if they improved that feeling now. I've never found they help with weight loss unfortunately but menopause has ensured nothing I can do helps with that!
Thank you for sharing your experience. I’ve had some health anxiety about stories that they can cause adrenal dependency but I’ve reached the conclusion that this is inaccurate. Unfortunately they are being discontinued so I need to find another supplier
I was told that they need about 3 months to make an effect. Yes, I like them. When I miss a day I can feel it. I take one in morning, 1 at lunch and 1 afternoon
Unfortunately all glandulars are becoming very hard to find in the UK now. Most suppliers have stopped sending them because of the additional paperwork needed post Brexit. Swanson won't ship to the UK anymore and most companies like Nutri have stopped manufacturing. It's really sad.
