Blood Test Results

ok so I now have some results further to my last post;

Sample taken - 21/02/2023

TSH - 9.52 mIU/L (0.27-4.2)

FT3 - 4.2 pmol/L (3.1-6.8)

FT4 - 20.4 pmol/L (12-22)

Antibodies not done this time as had them done back in October and they remained high. Also awaiting results from vitamin D & B12 and folate as well as the coeliac test as advised which I will feed back as soon as I have them.

Have you now changed how you take your levo and taking it at bedtime on an empty stomach with just water?

Your previous folate result was deficient, your GP should be prescribing you 5mg folic acid.

Not at bedtime no as that doesn’t suit my lifestyle. I have however been taking it on an empty stomach first thing in the morning and leaving a 2 hour gap before eating or taking my other medications and have felt little difference this far. Folate is being tested again so hopefully dr will then prescribe the 5mg folic acid for me.

Whatever suits you really so long as Levo is taken as you have described you are doing now and not with anything else like other meds and supplements, food caffeine containing drinks. PPI's are particularly bad to take with it as they decrease absorption of everything.

It was only 3 days ago you made your last post. It's going to take a good few weeks and months for you to feel a difference. Would recommend getting new bloods done in 6-8 weeks time following the change in how you take your Levo as you may need a dose reduction.
