painless bubble in mouth

hi folks - do any of you get a little bubble in the mouth ?

I’ve got one that that keeps coming back. It’s on the inside of my cheek. It’s very small and painless but annoying. I tend to eat mainly on that side and do clench my jaw at night.

I’m a massive worrier which I know a lot of thyroid sufferers are.

I’ve read about cysts in the mouth and probably that but worries someone sinister.

I find going to the doctors and dentist too scary which I know is silly.

wish I wasn’t like this.

I can't tell you what your bubble is. But I will suggest that you go to a dentist before going to a doctor about it.

I've seen doctors about mouth problems before and they don't even bother to look at them. They think the mouth is a dentist's job.

Please screw your courage up to go to a dentist / doctor. Nobody on here can help you because none of us can be assumed to be professionally qualified, and we can't test or prescribe for you either. Take a partner, relative, friend with you for courage. It does help knowing that they are there.

In all likelyhood it's probably going to be a simple blister but you won't know until you get it checked out.

Do you have recent thyroid blood results to share with us? Have you had key vitamins checked lately? Getting these things OPTIMAL helps us all round with many issues.

This might be of interest :

That website has loads of information and pictures relating to other oral conditions.

At the top of the home page is a search box.

Do a search for the word "oral" and you'll see the list is a very long one.

I expect it’s you catching your cheek between your teeth during sleep but it’s always worth getting it looked at.

Definitely try a dentist - if you can find one/get an appointment. It’s most likely to be a cyst. They are harmless but leak from time to time and if not actually disappear, fill up again over time, leak and repeat. However “I’m a massive worrier which I know a lot of hypothyroid sufferers are”. Yes well I think you are correct with that one. My worst visit to a doctor (still undiagnosed hypothyroid) I had a particularly bad day. Dr. was truly horrible, had a student with him he was showing off to and distracted me from my mission. I actually forgot what I was there for!!! I apologised (why do we bother) and got up to leave. He laughed and caught the students eye as if to say “mad”. Yes, perhaps if we were treated with a bit more respect and they were capable of doing the jobs they were paid to do, we might have a bit more confidence and we would not be massive worriers. I wonder what ended up in my notes that day? Perhaps a further enquiry into my case? No just filed away. Job done.

that’s terrible no wonder we put off going. Thank you for your kind words. The bubble was back again last night. I’ve been constantly looking at it in the mirror and getting myself in a stress. I’m going to book an appointment with the dentist and really frightened about seeing him in case he says it’s something horrible. X

Yes sometimes denial works, at least temporarily. Get yourself down there and hopefully get your mind put at rest.

yeah I will. I’ve managed to convince myself it’s oral cancer. I’ve done the silliest thing and googled it ! Wish I wasn’t like this !

Thanks x
