Hiya, I was wondering if someone could help me please if possible.

I have got a blood test form and now needing to get this done soon, I am currently on iron tablets, vitamin D3, Bio kult tablets and Glucosamine sulphate tablets.

Am I okay to continue any of these with the tests being done? Do I need to stop any, I don't want anything to mess with the results on any of these I am having done.

Blood tests I am having in photo.

Kind regards

ALWAYS test thyroid levels early morning, ideally at 9am latest

Stop iron supplements 3-5 days before test

And don’t take vitamin D on morning of test, until done test

Don’t know anything about bio kult or glucosamine tablets.

Come back with new post once you get results

Do you have a thyroid condition diagnosed? Currently take any medication or replacement?

Are the notes re CBZ lithium & 131 prompts for dr or your case history?

Book the draw first thing in morning and if your do take any replacement delay until after draw.

As you having ferritin & vitamin D tested you can leave off taking iron 3 days before & D3 the morning before draw.

Biotin is the supplement know to interfere with tests, this can be on B complex supplements.

Looks like request is for TSH & FT4 so FT3 likely won’t be tested.

Hey,

Thank you so much for all your help and information:) I have tried and tried to push for T3 but my doctors just won't do it and they say I don't need it. But I have heard otherwise.

Kind regards

See what results show first

You may then need to get TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 tested together….and ideally TPO and TG antibodies

Hiya,

I have asked so many times and they don't do it but they said I didn't need T3 because it is unless, but I think I may have to pay for the one privately down the line after these ones then take it from there.

I will then have to see if I can find someone to read the results for me if I go privately.

Kind regards

As you have a ferritin test it's best to leave off the iron tablets for a few days beforehand, about 5 days should be enough.

Continuing with your D3 means that the result will reflect what you are achieving with the dose you are taking so it's best to carry on with that and from the result you'll know whether you need to adjust your dose. Take after the test on the day.

BioKult and Glucosamine I would also take after the test on the day.

Hey,

Thank you so much for your help!

Okay I shall go for 5 days before test with stopping the iron just to be safe. I shall just take D3 after the tests that day and any other medication after it is done.

Kind regards:)
