Hello all. I'm now trying to optimise my vitamins so I'm using Thorne Basic B and I've taken this forum's advice about getting D3 with K2 but I'm not sure which type of magnesium is best for us? The citrate kind or the other? Also I think we are supposed to have Selenium and Zinc, yes? Any particular kind of those recommended?
Isabella Wentz recommends Betaine for those with poor digestion as well...what do you guys think?

Have you tested key nutrients? If so can you post results with their reference ranges please. We need to supplement where necessary and at the right dose so it's important to know our levels and work out what dose, if any, we need.

Nobody can tell you that. There are many types of magnesium, each with a specific role so you have to check and decide which is right for you.

Selenium is said to be safe at 100mcg daily but it's best to test first to see if it's needed. Same for zinc. Zinc and copper should be balanced and we hypos tend to have one high and the other low, so again it's best to test to ensure we are taking the correct supplement if it's needed.

Some of us have low stomach acid which can be helped by digestive enzymes, apple cider vinegar with mother, Betaine with Pepsin, etc. Again it's a case of knowing that you need help here.
betaine with pepsin was a massive help with my digestion while undermedicated and working up the titrations. I don’t need it so often now. I took it during a meal if it happened to be particularly protein heavy.
I prefer Magnesium Glycinate as I tend toward loose bowels rather than constipation. Citrate would go straight through me.
